It’s Not My America Anymore…

It’s Not My America Anymore…

Do you recognize it?  America?  I don’t.  Its social and political features have changed so much so that I can no longer envision the nation that I once lived.  It has changed from North to South and from East to West.  My backyard remains the same. The drive to the local Wal-Mart is the same, but the nation itself has changed.  Its fundamental infrastructure no longer exists.

Nearly eight years ago, the people of our nation elected as its president a man who is not afraid to point his finger in the face of God and say, “I will do it my way.”  And, he has done just that. He promised “change,” and change is exactly what we got…But, not a good change.  Evil is now celebrated as being good, right, and courageous while morality, good, and decency are mocked and ridiculed. We are now living in a nation who “does what is right in their own eyes.”  (Judges 17:6).

But, let me assure you.  None of the events and happenings around the world is a surprise to God.  Everything is moving in the right direction according to God’s timetable. And, the current world leaders that HE has placed into their positions are carrying out exactly what God ordained them to do from the foundation of the world.  I may not agree nor like my current president’s governing abilities, but he is serving out God’s purpose and plan for our nation during this present day and time; whether or not he is aware of it.  But, oh, my friend, one day our nation’s president along with all the other world leaders (past, present, and future) will know who truly leads the events of this planet as every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess Jesus as Lord.

I have to admit that even though I am a Christian I was not “looking” each and every day for the second coming of our LORD, or as some refer to it as the Rapture of the Church, as I should have been.  I have faithfully served our LORD for the past forty years alongside of my husband who is an ordained minister. We raised our three daughters in church and we built our lives upon God’s Biblical principles.  But, I must admit that I wasn’t living with a daily focus on the expectancy of our LORD’S return.  I have always loved studying Bible prophecy. I have watched the “signs” for over forty years now, but I wasn’t praying daily, “Even so, Lord Jesus, Come Quickly.”  But that has quickly changed!

Like so many other Christians, I know that the Day of the Lord can appear at anytime in a twinkling of an eye. I am thankful to know that my name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.  But, I must confess that I possess way too much of this old world in my pocket and in my heart to sincerely pray, “Lord, Come Quickly.”  Like most families, I want to see my children and grandchildren grow up, go off to college, eventually marry, and have children of their own. I look forward to becoming a Great-grandmother one day because I already know how wonderful it is being a grandmother…So, the thoughts of another beautiful generation of babies birthed into our family and into this world filled my thoughts and heart with Joy.

But, all of that is quickly fading. I am now very concerned about the world and nation that we call home. We are living in a sickened society where our nation’s top leader calls to congratulate a once gold-medalist swimmer for changing his gender from male to female while he carelessly salutes our nation’s finest Marines with a cup of Star-Bucks in his hand.  How flippant and disrespectful can the leader of the free world be?

Also, being a retired public educator, I have always been an advocate of our nation’s public schools. But;  not any longer. Now, my grandchildren and future great-grandchildren will be exposed to gender-free environments that indoctrinate and encourage them to “choose” whichever gender they wish to remain as well as experimenting with multiple sexual partners to determine gender preference.  Sadly, my grandchildren won’t even feel safe in our nation’s military since they can no longer publicly exhibit their Christian faith, beliefs, and freedoms.

This is no longer the safe and peaceful nation and society that  I wish to see my children, grandchildren, or future grandchildren fight to live or survive.  I now envision my children living in a beautiful Millennium Kingdom with Christ Jesus, King of Kings and Lord of Lords, as their eternal Leader.  A place where God’s Laws are the Laws of the Land. I now desire to see my family and friends walk down the Street of Gold that runs alongside the River of Life.  Since my grandsons enjoy fishing I know they will enjoy this most majestic River! I now long to see the Twelve Fruits of Righteousness that will blossom to feed the Millennium nations by God’s own Hands….Ah, what visions these Truths hold within my heart!  Yes! There is a bright future for those of us who Trust in Christ Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior.

Maybe; just perhaps, this is what ALL of this madness is supposed to accomplish…All Christians everywhere letting go of this present day world and looking forward to our Lord’s soon coming and to our eternal home in Heaven clothed in all of its glorious splendor.  Let us wake up out of our sleep and Look Up for our Redemption draweth nigh.

Like never before in my lifetime I can sincerely pray with great expectancy, “Come, Lord Jesus. Come Quickly.”  Amen.

Remember, God Loves You!

Deliver Me From My Enemies

“Deliver me from mine enemies, O my God; defend me from them that rise up against me.” (Psalm 59).

Possibly, in my life time or since the late 1930’s and early 1940’s, are we seeing such a massive uprising of physical attacks and assaults on a people because of their ethnicity and faith.

It’s getting more and more difficult to watch the daily news without ever-growing concerns for our Christian brothers and sisters living in the Middle East as well as the daily bombardments on Israel. One would have to be completely living with their head buried in the sand to not see what is happening. God’s enemies are boldly moving throughout our globe as they see earth’s final days quickly approaching.

In the New Testament book of Matthew, chapter twenty-four, Jesus himself reveals the “signs” and “events” that will be occurring at his second coming. Could the headlines of today’s news say it any plainer? Yes; many of these events and happenings have been taking place on our planet at one time or another ever since Jesus ascended back into Heaven over 2,000 years ago. But, Jesus also taught that the world’s end-of-time troubles would come on much like birth pangs intensifying stronger and stronger as the day approaches.

I remember when our oldest daughter went into labor with our first grandchild. We took her to the hospital three times in one day as the pains continued. But, on that fourth and final trip the pains had become closer and closer and more unbearable. When we walked through the front entrance of the birthing center that time the nurse took one look and said, “She’s got the look.” What look you might ask? The look of intense pain and suffering! She was suffering and she wasn’t even able to get a good breath from one pain to the other. That seems to be what is happening all around us on planet Earth. We cannot get through one piece of bad news before another one hits right on top of it.

The pains, sorrows, and trials of this life are getting closer and closer and seemingly harder and harder to manage. It appears to me that Jesus’ return is on the horizon. I beg you my friend to make your election sure; your Salvation in Jesus Christ. That you know that you know without a shadow of a doubt that you are a child of God’s, born-again, filled with the Holy Spirit, and ready for your departure ALL in the name of Jesus Christ.

The only sure way to be “delivered” from the enemies of this life and the dreadful Great Tribulation that is upon us is through the shed blood of Jesus at Calvary. Jesus is LORD and He is our only “Deliverer.” Great is HIS name. Amen.

Betrayal…Signs of the Time?

Betrayal…Signs of the Second Coming? If God be for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31)
We are most definitely living in peculiar times. I don’t think I have ever heard of so many good people and good families facing such difficult battles and hardships arising from betrayals, deceptions, criticisms, and false or misleading accusations.
It is never Satan’s intentions to build and protect “unity” among the brethren. His goal has always been to “sow seeds of discord” whenever possible; even in the closest of families, friendships, or churches. And, believe me he doesn’t miss an opportunity to do so! He’s always on the prowl to find “someone” who will aid him in his destructive schemes. Sadly, he doesn’t have to look too wide or too far.
Words are powerful and when we are NOT using them to encourage or build up others, we can very easily be using them to tear down and discourage. I have always heard that if a person will speak negatively about someone to you, then they will speak negatively about you to someone. We can all find negative things to say about one another, because we are all human and we all fall short of the Glory of God. In other words, none of us are perfect; no not one.
As Christians, we learn that there are the sins of commission (doing or saying something wrong; or possessing the wrong attitude) and the sins of omission (failing to say or do that which is right, good, or proper). At times, all of us have missed chances and opportunities to do good. And, sadly, we often mess up by saying or doing the wrong thing at the wrong time; as well. But, God gives us “Good News” for such times. He teaches us to “love” one another and to “forgive” one another; exhorting, encouraging, and building up those in the faith. After all, we are family; God’s family.
But, somehow that Biblical principle has gotten lost in the shuffle of modern-day society. I know years ago it was common to hear Christians greet one another as, “Sister So-and-so,” or “Brother So-and-so.” But, that’s considered “old-fashioned” now a days. The book of Titus teaches how the older and younger Christians are to inter-relate one with another; giving honor and respect to the older and caring for the younger by being good examples and teachers of the Faith. However, our society has become so “youth” driven with more and more “novices” in leadership roles that foundational principles such as “honoring” and “respecting” our elders is no longer valued; neither given nor received. How sad. It seems “betrayal” at all levels of life has become the “norm” of our land.
But, in actuality, that is exactly what happened to Christ. He was betrayed by the “kiss” of a friend only hours before he was to be crucified. So, perhaps all of this increased betrayal, deception, and false accusations are simply “signs” of Jesus Christ’s soon return! After all, the Bible does teach us that the “love of many shall wax cold,” and things in general will wax worse and worse the closer to Christ’s return.
So, let us comfort one another with these reminders from God’s Word, “If God be for us, who can be against us?” “Who shall lay anything to the charge of God’s elect?” and “Who shall separate us from the Love of God?” Oh, my friend, don’t let the pains from betrayal, rejection, deception, and false accusations get you down and discouraged. You are not alone. Look up! For our redemption draweth nigh!

Day 7 Celebrating Immanuel

Day 7 Celebrating Immanuel

And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for He shall save his people from their sins…(Matthew 1:21 KJV)

For those of us who were born over the past two thousand years, we do not know what it was like living before JESUS was born…We do not know what it was like living before the Cross of Calvary or the blessed Resurrection…

For us, we know the manifested mercies of God through His only begotten Son…We know God’s Love, God’s Power, God’s Grace, God’s Redemption, God’s Salvation, God’s Deliverance, and God’s Will through Jesus Christ; the blessed Savior born unto a virgin in Bethlehem over two thousand years ago…Christians today have the blessed past of his miraculous birth to celebrate (CHRISTMAS!) and his blessed Second Coming to joyously anticipate!  We are truly a blessed generation!

Today’s Christians, like our Old Testament friends, look forward with great Hope and Anticipation towards another coming; The Second Coming of our LordHis second coming will follow exactly seven years after the pre-tribulaton Rapture of the Church (Body of Believers and Followers of Jesus Christ).  Some people refer to the Rapture of the Church as His second coming…However, at the time of the Rapture, Jesus will not actually step his feet back upon planet Earth.  At that time, He will meet His Bride, the church, in the air…What a meeting in the air!  “Then we which are alive and remain  shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” (I Thessalonians 4:17 KJV).

The raptured church will be ushered to Heaven for two great events, The Judgement Seat of Christ and the Marriage Supper of the Lamb.  Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready . (Revelation 19:7 KJV).

Oh, my friend, we, as Christians, have a great promised future ahead of us no matter what issues we are currently facing while living here on planet Earth.  We, like our Old Testament friends, have the Promised Messiah’s second return in our focused lenses.  They saw his first coming as a babe in the manger. However; we have his second anticipated coming as King of Kings and Lord of Lords…And, I don’t believe that “twinkle-of-the-eye” is very far away…Halleljuah! Amen!

Are you ready?  Are you ready for the Rapture to happen?  There were those who were “ready” to accept the Messiah’s first coming. They believed and received the gift of Salvation while He, Jesus, yet walked among them.  “And, the Word became flesh and dwelled among us.”  (John 1:14 KJV).  By Faith, they believed and received…

Today, By Faith, we look forward to His second return….”Faithful is He that calleth you, who also will do it.” (I Thessalonians 5:24)…God was FAITHFUL to send His promised Messiah the first time…And, HE will be FAITHFUL to send His promised Messiah the second time!  I ask you again, “Are you ready?”!  Oh, I pray so….

“For God So Loved the World that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through HIM might be saved.” John 3:16-17 KJV.

When He Comes…Again

When He Comes…Again

“Men of Galilee, why do ye stand here looking into the sky?  This same Jesus, who has been taken up from you into Heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into Heaven.”

 (Act 1:11 NIV).

It only stands to reason that a person who does NOT believe in the first coming of God, over two-thousand years ago manifested in the flesh (John 1:14), is not looking for his second coming!  It’s not a matter of “IF” He will come again…It is a matter of  WHEN HE COMES AGAIN!

For those of us who are followers of Christ Jesus, called Christians, his eminent return is the pinnacle of our Christian faith, belief and experience. Our LEADER, REDEEMER, SAVIOR, and KING is ALIVE and WELL for all eternity.  No other religious group can proclaim and declare that statement.  Personally, I don’t understand anyone who would rather place their faith in a person who is dead and remains dead than in the ONE and ONLY true God who lives forever more!  I mean if a person who “claims” to be “god” cannot save themselves…how can he or she save you and me??!!  Jesus is alive!!

Then, there are those who claim to be agnostic or atheist.  They delight themselves in believing and possessing all of these theories that we somehow evolved from monkeys, or tad-poles, or from a big-bang explosion of gases…I mean…REALLY….How far-fethched are they!  So, naturally, these poor lost souls are not looking for the return, second coming, of Christ Jesus…They don’t believe in His first earthly appearance….In fact, they don’t even believe He or His Heavenly Father even exists…Well, that is their sad misfortune…Much, much sadder than they can even imagine.

But, as the Old Testament commander and warrior Joshua proclaimed, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” (Joshua 24:15).

The Bible clearly teaches that the “world”  (those who do NOT believe in God or His chosen way for man’s salvation through the Blood of His own Son, Jesus) will mock, ridicule, and make fun of those of us who do Believe.  Therefore, I feel it is of great value that we should teach and warn our children of such mockings and mannerisms.  It should not take our children or grandchildren by surprise when they run into those individuals and groups of people who toss aside the authorative teachings of the Bible.  I believe that this is a part of our responsibilities as Christian parents and grandparents to equip our children’s minds and hearts beforehand that these mockings will take place….And, even more so as we see the day of his return approaching.

My friend, are you looking today for the second coming of Christ Jesus?  I know I am.  He could come today in a twinkling of an eye, split the Eastern sky and take his children (those who believe) home to ever be with Him in Heaven (Glory)!!

Whether His returning is today, tomorrow, the next day, next week, next month, or next year…Or, ten thousand years to come….He is Coming…and When He Comes Again…The “world” will finally once and for all seen and know that Jesus is Lord of Lords and King of Kings…”  Every knee shall bow and Every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord!” (Romans 14:11 KJV).

Won’t you make him your Lord today…(Romans 10).

He’s Coming…Again!

He’s Coming…Again!  Millions around the world have already ushered in this year’s Christmas Season. All types of people are busy with traditional shopping, decorating, trimming the tree, wrapping gifts and packages, cooking and baking, and some making traveling plans. But, let me ask you this most important question.  Are you prepared and making plans for the Second Return of Jesus Christ?

I’m afraid that we celebrate and make plans for celebrating Christmas Day each year with little thought that He’s Coming Again!  This time not as a little babe born in Bethlehem of Judea but as Lord of Lords and King of Kings!  Amen.

As we celebrate the earthly birth of Jesus Christ over two thousand years ago, we need to be reminded to prepare within our hearts, minds, and lives for His second future coming…Actually, even more so!

Yes; we MUST first believe in His first coming as a babe in a manger born unto the virgin, Mary.  Yes; we must believe in his sinless life.  Yes; we must believe in the Cross of Calvary where he bled and died for our sins.  Yes; we must believe in His total bodily Resurrection from the tomb.  And; Yes….we must believe He is Coming Again to take his Bride, the church (born-again believers in Christ Jesus) to live forever and ever with Him in Heaven!  His second coming is as assured as his first!!  For his first coming made His second coming possible!!

What type of preparation do we need to believe? Faith (Hebrews 11:1)  By faith and through faith…we must first believe that He is who He says He is…God’s own Son (John 3:16).  We must believe that He is God manifested in the flesh (John 1:14).  And, We must believe that the Word of God (all sixty-six books of the Bible) are the inspired and inerrant Words of God.  By Faith we receive God’s Love through His Son, Jesus (Romans 10)….And, by Faith we live out our daily lives according to His Words.

My friend, are you ready for His Second Coming?  Oh, I hope so.  I pray so.  As you continue with your plans for a Happy and Merry Christmas this year…please make plans in your heart to make “ready” for His second coming in a twinkling of an eye! He’s Coming Again! (I Thessalonians 4:14-18).

Remember, God Loves You!
