Election Day…It’s Time to be Heard

Election Day…It’s Time to be Heard…

Tomorrow, November 4, 2014, will be an important day in the lives of Americans. It is mid-term election day. Oh, how I wish that ALL Americans would take part in their civic duty to vote the convictions of their heart. It is a privilege as well as duty. But, sadly, too many people will neglect this most valued trust and allow “others” to be their voice. But, “It’s Time to be Heard.”

If you are like me you are probably wondering which “voice” will be heard? Will it be the super liberal voice that chooses to uphold every whim and wham that comes along with little to no restrictions or restraints whatsoever? Or, will it be the more conservative voice that upholds logical boundaries and standards to protect everyone within our society as a whole? If you are a follower of my blog, you already know where I stand…I am a conservative who upholds traditional family values and Christian principles. So, my voice will be heard as a conservative.

It’s not against the law to stand on one side or the other. I have the same right to vote as the super liberal; and the super liberal has the same right to vote as me. That’s the privilege of voting one’s own conscience and convictions. The problem lies within those who seek “not” to vote either way, but live with the choices of others.

As an American I have the right to speak out against abortion. I have the right to speak out against non-traditional marriages. However; I am for the protection of innocent life, and I am for the protection of traditional marriage. I am against Hollywood’s attempts to magnify sin and make fun of righteousness. I am for the promotion of righteousness and against the magnification of sin. I liked it better when the good guys won and the bad guys lost. Life was much simpler then.

I am for protecting our nation’s borders and protecting our citizens against wide-spread diseases such as Ebola. I am for the support of Israel and against the wide-spread terror of radical Islam. I am for a strong military and support of military families all across the globe. I am for the protection of our elderly and care for our poor who truly cannot fend for themselves. But, I am against the redistribution of wealth to give to those who do not seek to work, but rather seek to receive the benefits of someone else’s hard work. I support and uphold education; both public and private. And, I am persuaded in the belief that Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life and the only way to God. I believe that there is a Heaven to gain and a hell to shun for the Christian Believer.

This is who I am…And, currently within the borders of my nation, I have the right to stand on these principles whether they are currently popular or not. And, that my friend is what election day is all about. “It’s a Time to be Heard.” VOTE!

Remember, God Loves You!

God’s Will…Really?

God’s Will…Really?

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. (Isaiah 55:8 KJV)

So often, we say that we desire and want God’s will in our lives, but do we “really” understand what God’s will might be?

Have you ever thought that while we are “seeking” and “searching” for God’s will for our life that we are actually living it moment by moment? Every moment that we, as committed Christian believers, live is NOT living outside of God’s will for our lives…As a matter of fact Jesus prayed, “Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10). And, if you will recall, that didn’t stop his persecutions, rejections, beatings, or crucifixion…Asking for God’s will in our lives does not “spare” us from the good, bad, or ugly…

Asking for God’s will in our lives is more about surrendering to “FAITH” than getting things our way…As Christians we are taught by Scripture that, Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not YET seen (Hebrews 11:1)…As Christians we must learn to conduct and discipline our lives as, ”believing that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28). So, finding God’s will for our lives has absolutely nothing to do with getting all of our prayers answered the way we would like or prefer them to be answered…It’s actually about accepting life as it happens as being what God has purposed, planned, and allowed for our lives at the present moment…

Don’t fret or worry. I know how difficult and challenging this can be. I have been living through a particular family situation that has gone on for over ten years without being resolved…As a matter of fact it seemingly continues to decline and grow wearier with each passing day. I have bombarded Heaven day and night with both my prayers and tears without seeing the matter get any better. I have prayed scriptures over the matter. I have sought the prayers of others whom I felt I could confide; and sadly even a few of them betrayed my trust. I have seen 1AM, 2AM, 3AM, and 4AM come and go night after night without one single indication that the situation is getting even close to being resolved…It goes beyond my human reasoning and abilities to understand or comprehend the complexities of it all…God just continues to remain SILENT regarding the matter…And, it doesn’t appear to bother the others involved one tiny bit…So, I continue to live day by day feeling the blunt end of the heavy burden and major disappointments of it all…Time and days that can never be gained back while here on Earth.

So, this year I have resolved myself to finding a place of “Acceptance” regarding the whole thing. A place where I will just PRAISE the LORD anyway no matter the continued dismal outcome…It grieves me to no end knowing that if the matter is not resolved very soon that I will miss out on precious family quality time, happenings, and events…But, what else can I do? Besides sending up my daily prayers I have jumped through every hoop and walked every plank set before me…But, none of my efforts have brought forth restitution or fellowship…As the Bible teaches, I have sought Peace, Love, Mercy, Forgiveness, Restitution, and Fellowship, but without positive results…The other parties involved simply refuse to budge, even though they claim to be Christians serving God with their lives…I have resolved that they have a “will” too, and their “will” is that this matter be “not” resolved; not at this time anyway…Truthfully, I can no longer judge what God allows and doesn’t allow for someone else’s life. He knows the hearts of all men…

So, finding God’s will in this particular matter, or in any other daily matter, comes down to “acceptance-by- faith.” As the age-old Serenity Prayer says:

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
–Reinhold Niebuhr

In 2014, may we all be reminded within our hearts and minds to live each day knowing that God’s thoughts are not our thoughts; neither are our ways His ways. (Isaiah 55:8 KJV) And, may we each one find the Serenity Path to guide our steps along the way. God Bless You…

Here Comes the Holidays!

Here Comes the Holidays…

“A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance…” Ecclesiastes 3:4

The Holiday Season is now upon us and with it comes various preparations, traditions, routines, programs, traveling, card sending, letter writing, shopping, purchases, wrappings, decorating, cooking and baking, gatherings and feastings, giving and receiving, clean up and pick up, returns, and exhaustion…Ahh…a time to laugh and a time to weep…:)

The Holidays bring into our lives times of laughter, excitement, and merriment…But, they can also remind us of the more lonely and sadder times within our lives…Not everyone gets to travel. Not every family gathers to feast. Not everyone has the time, health, nor money to shop until they drop. Not every family can purchase and decorate a tree…And, some children may not find that special gift on Christmas morn…And, many families each year are separated by the winds and distant miles of “service unto our country.” And, some are even sadly reflecting upon the recent loss of a loved one…A time to mourn.

Thus, we enter into a season that requires the need for “balance.” We must be careful to “balance” our lives, our purses, our taste buds, our emotions, and our energies during the upcoming days and weeks ahead…

As a child, I could not wait until the holidays to get to spend time at my grandparents’ homes with all of my aunts, uncles, and cousins…To me, that is one of the more valued reasons of the holiday season as well as being thankful and grateful for all that God has provided and done in our lives…But, even I had to accept that our family could not always “gather” as it once had…We live in a different time and mindset than we did back in the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s when gathering together with the family had more meaning and opportunities…Today, emails, texts, and Facebook have taken over traditional gatherings around the table or sitting in front of the fireplace with loved ones…But, don’t get me wrong…I’m very thankful to be able to see pictures and hear from family members whom I cannot be with in person…So, I, too, must be careful to keep my own emotions in check and in balance…Keeping focused on the truer and real meaning of the Holidays…A Time to slow down, stop, reflect, and be Thankful to our Creator for all of our Blessings

This Holiday Season I wish everyone a time of “balance” as they carry out and conduct their own traditions and customs…But, most importantly, I wish everyone “JESUS” into their hearts and lives. For Jesus is the Reason for the Season…. Christmas is ALL about JESUS; a time to celebrate the greatest birth on Earth; the greatest display of God’s Love towards sinful man…

This season, let’s not allow “all” the others activities and wishes in our lives to rob us of the true meaning of the Season…A time to reflect upon Elohim God, Mighty Owner of Earth; Jehovah God the Great I Am; Emmanuel God being interpreted, “God is With Us…” And, if God be for us, who can be against us.” Now, that’s something to truly celebrate!! A time to dance…

For me, the Holidays and “EVERYDAY” are a summary of John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that HE gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting Life, for God sent not His son into the world to condemn it, but that the world through Him might be saved.” Hallelujah, Amen! Thank you Jesus for this Holiday Season…For Without You where would I be?….

And, on that note…Happy Forthcoming Holiday Season!

Remember, God Loves You!

Taking Things for Granted…

Takeing Things for Granted…

Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away (James 4:14 KJV)

It’s funny how life’s unexpected happenings, such as a valued broken bowl, can cause you to ponder life’s deeper meaning. Today, as I was dusting furniture, I accidentally dropped a glass bowl that I valued very much. Of course, it made me sick. If something just has to drop and break, why can’t it be something inexpensive from the Dollar Tree! It seems that those items last forever, while things you cherish the most can often break so easily! I know I have picked up that particular glass bowl a million times over the years, but I won’t be picking it up for a million and one! Then, it occurred to me that we toss away things in our lives every day that do NOT hold value to us…Our land fields are filled with discarded trash and broken items we no longer need or require in our lives…

But, not so true for those things that we do cherish. We want to hang on to them and take good care of them. The same is true with family members and friendships we have in our lives…We don’t like to let them go; even when they are broken…And, if they do get broken, we tend to do all we can to mend the breaks! Just like I should have taken more caution and time picking up my valued glass bowl, we all need to make sure that we take more caution, more time, and more effort in showing and sharing our love with those we value the most in our lives.

I suppose after all these years, I simply took my glass bowl for granted and picked it up too quickly without getting a firmer grip on it. And, in a blink of an eye, it was gone…Sadly; we can take people in our lives for granted just the same way. The glass bowl was actually just “stuff.” Stuff comes and goes in our lives all the time. But, family and cherished friendships are more important than “stuff!” Today, there may be someone in your life who you have been meaning to call or visit. I encourage you to stop what you are doing and make preparations for that call or visit, because just as quickly as that glass bowl slipped out of my hand and shattered all over my living room floor, life can be taken away from us in a blink of the eye. For, what is your life? It is even a vapour that appeareth and then it is gone Amen.

Remember, God Loves You! (And, Praise be unto God, we are never just “stuff” to Him!)

Solomon and Nehemiah…Builders for God

Solomon and Nehemiah…Builders for God…

1.  “Then, Solomon began to build the temple of the LORD in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah…” (II Chronicles 3:1)…

2.  “The God of Heaven will give us success. We his servants will start rebuilding…” (Nehemiah 2:20).

Leaders are Builders and Builders are Leaders

A “builder” is someone who designs, engineers, puts forth both effort and labor, and makes something by “joining” parts to make a whole….Example:  A “builder” brings together materials, elements, and means suitable to build a house, a bridge, a structure, a family, and even a relationship…

A builder not only “builds” concrete and tangible structures, but he or she “promotes” and “encourages” the good, finer, and better things in this life…A man or woman whose “vision” is small is not a builder…A person who tears down his own life, the life of his family and friends, or the life of his country is not a “builder” or a “leader,” but is a deceiver.

Where and when God is present there will always be a positive, continuous growth and maturity of Spirit and empowerment.  Why?  Because, God is our everlasting, eternal Builder…Therefore, those who are true servants of God are builders, too.  They will always be about the business of “building” and “improving.”

The opposite is true of Satan and those who are deceived by Satan…Satan comes to rob and to steal.  He tries to steal and rob and destroy everything that is good from God. Satan is the destroyer of lives.  Satan robs men and women of their lives and the “life” of their families, church, and nation…Those who are destroyers are from Satan…The contrast is plain and simple…God is a “builder” and Satan is a “destroyer.”  Which are you following?  From which are you empowered?  To build?  Or, to destroy?

Weaknesses; all weaknesses, in one way or the other have their root in being deceived by Satan; For God is Light and He who walks in the Light is not deceived and is filled with the Power of God from on high…A Builder will always seek to build and not destroy. A builder is always busy building, uplifting, improving upon, and seeking to build for God, God’s kingdom, as well as for others and for himself…A true “builder” takes no joy in destruction of any kind, shape, or model.  A builder detests idle lazyiness…A builder will always find something to build or someone to build up!

A builder is also someone who LEADS.  He or she sees a “need” and they build towards meeting that need; whether it is an emotional, mental, physical, or Spiritual need.  “To build” simply runs in their blood…They enjoy building up others and building up God’s kingdom.  They live for the “zeal” of building…They seek to leave a testimony and a legacy of greatness to a lost and dying world as well as to their families and closest friends…They first build from “within” through the Power of God, and then from “without.”  Builders are strong and courageous in the Lord!

Builders are not afraid of the darkness, cold, heights nor depths of their cause…They will see a “cause” all the way to the end…They are Faithful in their building skills.  They seek those things from above and do not dwell on pettiness for they know where their strength lies…In God…They are not ruled by undisciplined lives, but thrive on being disciplined and organized…A “worker” who needed not to be ashamed!

For a man or woman to truly follow God, he or she must commit themselves to becoming a life-long, full-time Builder….Builders are not only responsible for themselves and their own families, but they gladly take on the responsibilities of being responsible for others as well.  They seek to “build” a better life and a better future for all they connect with and interact with.

Builders are leaders and leaders are builders.  Builders plan, design, review, reflect, inspect, and are constantly looking and re-looking unto their works for better and better improvements…They do not settle…They do not just “get by.”  They won’t rest until the job is “well-done!”  They seek to achieve the highest and most optimized results possible…Then, they leave the final inspection, stamp-of-approval to God…The Supreme Builder of all mankind.  Amen!

A man or woman who is caught up in the mindset of “woe is me” can never be a builder.  They will always find excuses, always blame others for their failures, always look for the negative in all things, always live a life of misery and under-achievements….They will never know what it is like to fly with the eagles of adventure and achievement as a builder…They are set and “parked” on the ground with their feet buried in the muck and mire of sadness and even bitterness…only wishing they could do this or do that…never stepping out in Faith to achieve that which God has imparted to them…And, when their efforts fail…they quite…they give up…they find excuses upon excuses…they settle…they walk away…

But, a true Builder knows how to shake off the shackles and chains of defeat in this life and soar with the eagles as they fly high and higher above the “woe is me” mentality…

Today, you may be a builder…You may be successfully building your family, your career,  or your relationship with God…You may be reaching for heights of unprecedented measure…You may be Seeking God’s Glory in all you say and do…A builder of mankind; a builder of God’s Kingdom…A builder of Mercy and Grace…If so, “Hats off to you.”  “Adda Boy; Way to Go!  I want to encourage you to  Keep up the Great Work of Faith and Determination; for great is your reward.  Amen…

In closing today’s blog, I pray that we are all working towards becoming better Builders for God. I hope that we can all finish our tasks just like Solomon and Nehemiah completed their building projects!  Amen…I, too, want to one day hear the voice of my Lord say unto me,   “Enter in thou good and faithful servant. (builder)..”  Amen..

Remember, God Loves You!

Election Day– USA

Election Day– USA…

Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. (Psalm 37:3 KJV)

Are you voting?  Have you voted?  I certainly hope so. And, if you are voting or have already voted I hope and pray that you are voting for the future of our country and for the future of our families according to the traditional family as set forth in God’s word.

There is a lot of controversy across our nation in this most epic of all elections.  So much is at stake.  As a nation, we are concerned on so many different levels; military, financial, and moral…We are truly a nation at risk…We are a nation that stands at the cross-roads of choice and decision…Wrong and Right….Good and Evil…

There are those candidates who have chosen the liberal perspectives and the mainstream liberal votes as opposed to standing on Biblical truths and Biblical convictions…Yet; thanks be unto God for those few who are in the race of their lives standing upon Biblical truths and Biblical convictions.  It almost seems as if our nation is divided and has lined up on the platform of moral, Biblical conscience verses individual, agnostic design more than all of the other issues and concerns combined.

Let me simply say this…No matter who you are, your life will be affected in one way or the other by the decisions made tonight.  One side will seemingly lose and one side will win…But, for those of us who stand firm in our beliefs that GOD will one day bring all the injustices in the world to justice, we can rest assured that no matter who will be sitting in the oval office come January, 2013….God is and always will be on the Throne!

The Bible teaches us, “Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity, for they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb, Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the LAND, and verily thou shalt be fed.”

I don’t want to be disrespectful to our current president.  However; I don’t know about you, but I do not want to be the one who stands before God to give an account for being our nation’s first leader whom delighted in going on record as being the first President to openly welcome and support same-sex partners and same-sex marriage partners into their administration.  I also don’t want to be the president whom went public telling the nation that he told his own daughters that it was “alright” for them to marry within the same-sex.  Neither do I want to stand before God for supporting the killing of innocent babies for any reason deemed fit by the mother.  And, lastly,  I don’t want to go down in history as being the first American president to reduce our nation’s military strength in order to not offend non-Christian nations.  God forbid…God have mercy.

Yet, these things happened over the past four years and depending upon tonight’s outcome we could be in for another rough four years ahead; morally speaking.  No, I don’t believe the other candidate has ALL the right answers.  No, I don’t even believe he can turn things around as quickly as we would all like to see.  I honestly don’t know a single man who can…(But, Jesus Christ!)…However, what I do favor is his stand on traditional family values, pro-life, free-enterprise (capitalism), and a strong military presence throughout the world…On these issues along, he has my vote! He has my support…May the LORD be with him…

For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be…The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD; and he delighteth in his way, though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; for the LORD upholdeth him with His hand…I have been young and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread…”(Psalm 37).

No matter the outcome of Election Day USA, Christians all across the land can stand firm on God’s promises that He will never leave nor forsake us…He will be with us until the end…”  Upon this promise we can depend…For real change….Seek God…the ONLY real change maker!!!  God; Our Creator….Amen.

Remember, God Loves You (But, hates the sin you may be in…Won’t you repent and turn unto Christ Jesus?  The only real HOPE for change!!)

These, and so much more, hang in the balance for our nation…And, how we, as a people respond and react will seal our destination before God…One day those same people who ridicule and make fun of us for believing God will cry out for us to save them from the wrath of God…But, then it will be too late….For no one can Save except Christ….God, have mercy.

My Country Tis of Thee…

My Country Tis of Thee…

 The counsel of the Lord standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations. 12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord;  (Psalm 33:11-12 KJV)

Samuel Francis Smith wrote the words to the beloved patriotic song, “America,” in 1831 while a student at Andover Theological Seminary located in  Andover, Massachusetts.  Before I continue with today’s blog, let’s read his heart-felt lyrics from both verses one and four together:

My country, ’tis of thee, Sweet land of liberty, Of thee I sing;

Land where my fathers died, Land of the pilgrims’ pride, From ev’ry mountainside  Let freedom ring!

Our fathers’ God to Thee, Author of liberty, To Thee we sing. Long may our land be bright, With freedom’s holy light, Protect us by Thy might, Great God our King.

Amen! Amen! Like so many fellow Americans, I, too, stand concerned over our “Sweet land of liberty.”  It seems that so many have forgotten the “cost” of Freedom and the “cost” of Liberty. Many have forgotten that “blessings,”  ALL BLESSINGS come from above; from God and not of ourselves.  We are a people, a nation,  indebted to God and to our Founding Fathers for making America what it is today….

But, without God-fearing, God-serving men like Samuel Francis Smith and a host of other patriotic Founding Fathers as well as modern-day patriots, our much-taken-for-granted Freedoms and Liberties are highly at-risk. The Freedoms and Liberties we enjoy today may soon be gone with the winds of time if “WE THE PEOPLE” don’t wake up and arise from our deep sleep!

We are a Christian nation built upon Christian values, Christian principles, and Christian standards found within the literal pages of God’s literal Holy Word, the Bible.  We do not need to apologize to any nation, tongue, kindred, race or creed for our blessings bestowed upon us by the mighty Hand of God; our Heavenly Father through His Son, Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  We are a people called out for God’s purpose, God’s design, God’s plan, and God’s timing; not man’s.

In less than two weeks, Americans will go to the polls to elect a new President, Commander-in-Chief.  Once again, liberties will prevail…But, what if those liberties are soon taken away?  What if the very man put into office as our nation’s leader turns and betrays the very voters he deceived?  Oh, my friend…It can happen…Just look back at history…Our prayers needs to include the words, “God Save America from ALL sins and evildoers…Amen….”

We must Pray and Seek God’s Face and Guidance in ALL matters and issues of life. (II Chronicle 7:14)…  We cannot allow a “few” to silence the voices and hearts of the “Majority.”  We cannot allow corrupt policies and blatant lies to govern our lives and that of our children’s and grandchildren’s.  We must seek God’s Hand in our nation’s future; if there is to be a future…For only a nation whose God is the Lord shall stand the test of time.

We must not back down. We must raise the Christian banner high…There is far too much to lose; more than any of us can ever imagine.  Oh, how my heart breaks this morning for my country; for its leaders; for its people.  We must come together united in Spirit and in Wisdom that only God can send upon a land.  For no one man or no one political party can rule the hearts of man; only God.

This morning, let me ask you this question….If you are an American, who are you voting for?  Who will prevail?  Which candidate will win this election?  Right now, only God knows, even though our media services engage in great debate to predict and declare who “is” winning and who will win to become our nation’s 45th President…

Oh, Let Freedom Ring to the leader who will not abuse our nation’s power nor turn their back on our nation’s constitutional foundation that includes liberty and justice for all….And, to me that includes the innocent lives of our unborn children and the protection of the Biblical definition of Family…One man and One Woman …For Americans, there is so much at stake…

Maybe, the right answer can be found in the man from Massachusetts, Samuel Francis Smith, “My Country Tis of Thee….”  In other words, “My Country COMES from Thee O, Lord…Let Thy Mercies Ring!”

Today, Let our hearts rejoice in the fact that no man can take away or take away from what God gives!  And, my friend…America, I believe, belongs to God!!!  Hallow be Thy Name…In His Service; Amen!!!

Remember, God Loves You!
