Who is Your Trust?

“O LORD my God, in thee do I put my trust; save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me…My defense is of God, which saveth the upright in heart.” (Psalm 7:1, 10).

In the Old Testament days, King David of Israel fully understood the need to be rescued and delivered from his enemies. He was the king. In those days, kings were not always loved or liked by their family members or those who dwelled within their kingdom. Their lives were constantly in danger and in need of protection and safety from their enemies.

As many earthly body-guards as King David’s court included, his trust safely dwelled in the God of Israel. The same can be true for you and me as well. No matter how many friends and loved ones we may have in our lives none can secure our daily safety and protection like our Lord God through his Son, Jesus Christ.

Like King David our trust should always dwell safely in God. Today, you may be facing an unknown enemy; or an enemy of sickness, disturbance, loneliness, grief, persecution, or discouragement. Whatever the enemy may be in your life you can put your whole heart’s trust in God through Jesus Christ.

The Bible is filled with God’s many promises to those who put their trust in Him. I encourage you to take your eyes off of man and put them solely, by Faith, on Jesus. Jesus is our help in every circumstance of life.

The Bible teaches, “The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from mine enemies.”

Today, please join me in Praising God for always being our TRUST, Salvation, and Deliverer. Worthy to be praised is thy Name, O LORD…Amen and Amen!

Here Comes the Holidays!

Here Comes the Holidays…

“A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance…” Ecclesiastes 3:4

The Holiday Season is now upon us and with it comes various preparations, traditions, routines, programs, traveling, card sending, letter writing, shopping, purchases, wrappings, decorating, cooking and baking, gatherings and feastings, giving and receiving, clean up and pick up, returns, and exhaustion…Ahh…a time to laugh and a time to weep…:)

The Holidays bring into our lives times of laughter, excitement, and merriment…But, they can also remind us of the more lonely and sadder times within our lives…Not everyone gets to travel. Not every family gathers to feast. Not everyone has the time, health, nor money to shop until they drop. Not every family can purchase and decorate a tree…And, some children may not find that special gift on Christmas morn…And, many families each year are separated by the winds and distant miles of “service unto our country.” And, some are even sadly reflecting upon the recent loss of a loved one…A time to mourn.

Thus, we enter into a season that requires the need for “balance.” We must be careful to “balance” our lives, our purses, our taste buds, our emotions, and our energies during the upcoming days and weeks ahead…

As a child, I could not wait until the holidays to get to spend time at my grandparents’ homes with all of my aunts, uncles, and cousins…To me, that is one of the more valued reasons of the holiday season as well as being thankful and grateful for all that God has provided and done in our lives…But, even I had to accept that our family could not always “gather” as it once had…We live in a different time and mindset than we did back in the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s when gathering together with the family had more meaning and opportunities…Today, emails, texts, and Facebook have taken over traditional gatherings around the table or sitting in front of the fireplace with loved ones…But, don’t get me wrong…I’m very thankful to be able to see pictures and hear from family members whom I cannot be with in person…So, I, too, must be careful to keep my own emotions in check and in balance…Keeping focused on the truer and real meaning of the Holidays…A Time to slow down, stop, reflect, and be Thankful to our Creator for all of our Blessings

This Holiday Season I wish everyone a time of “balance” as they carry out and conduct their own traditions and customs…But, most importantly, I wish everyone “JESUS” into their hearts and lives. For Jesus is the Reason for the Season…. Christmas is ALL about JESUS; a time to celebrate the greatest birth on Earth; the greatest display of God’s Love towards sinful man…

This season, let’s not allow “all” the others activities and wishes in our lives to rob us of the true meaning of the Season…A time to reflect upon Elohim God, Mighty Owner of Earth; Jehovah God the Great I Am; Emmanuel God being interpreted, “God is With Us…” And, if God be for us, who can be against us.” Now, that’s something to truly celebrate!! A time to dance…
Amen…

For me, the Holidays and “EVERYDAY” are a summary of John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that HE gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting Life, for God sent not His son into the world to condemn it, but that the world through Him might be saved.” Hallelujah, Amen! Thank you Jesus for this Holiday Season…For Without You where would I be?….

And, on that note…Happy Forthcoming Holiday Season!

Remember, God Loves You!

The Offense of the Cross

The Offense of the Cross

On Thursday, November 7, 2013, many of us passionately and lovingly watched our beloved, ninety-five years old, Rev. Billy Graham render a heartfelt message of Hope to all Americans…”It’s Still the Blood of Jesus that sets man free.” Thank you Dr. Graham for sticking to the Bible, for standing on the Truth, and for declaring that none other but Jesus Christ can take away our sins and make us whole again.

If our nation needs to hear any message of Hope, any words of encouragement, or any words of divine wisdom it needs to hear about Jesus and the Cross. The Apostle Paul stated, “For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.” (I Corinthians 1:18 KJV). No other man-made religion possesses the Power of the Cross that takes away our sins, pays our sin debt, and reconciles sinful man back to a Holy, Righteous God. And, no other man was completely SINLESS and qualified to die upon the Old Rugged Cross than God’s only begotten Son, Jesus (John 3:16).

In addition to the absolute necessity of Jesus’ death on the Cross to pay for mankind’s sins, no other man born unto woman could bring forth the glorious Resurrection Power from the Grave to live and to reign for all eternity but our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ…Praise be unto the Name of our Lord…

I can almost see why non-believers and other non-believing religions want to destroy the Gospel of the Cross. They cannot match it nor can they imitate it. Only Christianity can claim the abundant Promises of God through Christ Jesus. For neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (Acts 4:12 KJV). Buddha cannot save a man’s soul from Hell. Mohammad cannot save a man’s soul from Hell. Even beloved King David of Israel could not save a man’s soul from Hell. Only through the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary can a man’s soul be saved from Hell and delivered from the sinful one, Satan.

Jesus not only can save a man’s soul from death, but in the Name of Jesus both a man and woman alike can find life anew, joyous strength, and power to overcome the wicked one. So many today live in darkness without the Power of Christ Jesus to overcome sin(s) or sin’s debts. Alcoholism is costly. Drug addiction is costly. Fornication is costly. Stealing and Robbery are costly. Lying and Cheating are costly. Murder and Deception are costly. And, it cost Jesus Christ His life to pay the eternal price for these sins and all other manners of rebellion and transgressions against our Holy God. But, through Jesus Christ alone any man or woman willing to call upon His name can find HOPE to overcome sin(s) and to reconcile their life back unto God and enjoy the sweet fellowship and joys of the Lord.

Oh, my friend, you may not know Jesus today as your personal Savior, but you can. Only Trust Him. Only Trust Him…Stop what you are doing and call upon His name. Cry out admitting that you are a sinner lost without hope. Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ asking Him to come into your heart and into your life saving you from your sins. Then, go tell someone about your new Faith in God through Jesus. Call a friend who you know to be a Christian. Or, call a Pastor. Call a loved one; a father, mother, sister, or brother to let them know that you have accepted Jesus as your Lord. You will never, never regret your decision and choice to follow Jesus. And, remember without the Cross, Salvation in Jesus would not and could not be possible…Jesus Paid it All; All to Him I Owe; I will Glory in the Cross.

In closing, I want to also encourage you that after you have accepted Jesus Christ into your heart to seek out a home church where the Gospel of Jesus Christ is preached and taught. Church is a place where you can grow in the Lord and a place where you can find fellowship with other believers. Amen…

When God Seemingly Doesn’t Answer…

When God Seemingly Doesn’t Answer…Or, He answers in a Different Way\

For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways” Isaiah 55:8

If you truly have a personal relationship with God through His Son, Jesus Christ, and have served Him for any reasonable amount of time you have to admit that there have been times when you have had to deal with feelings of unwanted “frustrations” because of ongoing circumstances, situations, issues, or concerns arising from areas within your life that you have prayed and prayed about with either no answer from God, no changes, or no relief in sight…Be honest…After all, one can never really and truly Grow in the Lord without complete and total honesty. I’m not saying that you have to go around “confessing” or “admitting” your frustrations to everyone you see, but you do need to “admit” and “confess” them to God…

But, you say…”Oh, no…I can’t tell God that I am upset or frustrated because HE has not answered my prayer the way that I want.” Why not? HE already knows it!! Believe me, I have had some mighty deep and personal prayers with God down through the years…I mean pouring out my every emotion, thought, concern, wish, and perspective…You say, “Oh, I’d never do that. God is Holy.” Yes, HE is…And, he knows that I’m NOT! ALL of man’s righteousness are as “filthy rags” in the sight of God…So, why try to hide who we are and how we feel from God…After all, HE alreadys know it. When you have a “best friend” you usually share with him or her your feelings about things. Let me encourage you that you have no great Friend that Christ Jesus!

I settled this matter a long time ago…One day during deep closet prayer I explained to GOD that my feelings of frustration and anger seemed to be justified as far as I could tell…Even the Bible states, “Be ye angry and sin not.” God knows that we experience at times a battery of different emotions. So, who better to tell your anger to than our Heavenly Father in personal, closet prayer. I mean when you want an increase in salary on your job your don’t present your case to the guy sitting next to you who can’t do a thing for you. You seek out the hierarchy of the place and set in to go step-by-step until you reach the top; the person in charge! Well, that’s how it is with closet Prayer…I go to the TOP! And, when I am in the presence of the ONE at the TOP who has ALL POWER to either change my circumstances or change me then I can leave my case at HIS feet!!! But, just suppose the person at the top won’t listen to your plea? Just suppose you keep marching to his office every day making an appointment to present your case and each time you get sent right back on your way…He (or she) simply will NOT hear you out…What happens? You get angry…You get upset…You get mad…You feel you are not being treated fairly…You want to quit; and sometimes you do…

Well, isn’t that how you feel when you petition God time and time again with a prayer need that seemingly is getting “pushed to the side” and unnoticed! You start feeling frustrated…You may even get upset and mad…You feel that God is not treating you fairly; after all HE did promise that HE would never leave nor forsake you…So, what’s up? In your mind and heart…you want to quit… You might even say something like, “I’ve had enough. I’m packing up my tool box and I’m going home.” Face it, we’ve all been there…And, God knows it…But, God is desparately wanting to teach and show us that HE is God no matter our circumstances or the length of time between asking for prayer requests and receiveing an answer. In other words, God is not our Santa Claus…He’s GOD! Higher and far more superior than we can ever think or imagine.

So, what happens after years and years of dealing with life’s frustrations? One or two things…You quit on God…Lots and lots of people do quit on God each day and each year…I would really hate to see the stats on such a thing…Or, you decide that God’s Ways are NOT your ways…And His thoughts are not your thoughts…HE’S GOD and HE can rule the universe or call the shots how HE wills…Not an easy thing to surrender to when your feet are kicking and your mouth is screaming! But, I have learned to take “comfort” that GOD does not rush to move at my demand, temper-tanturms, or earthly perspectives on how “I” see things…This is sometimes how our Faith is built…We learn that HE’s in charge and we really don’t have to “worry” about it the way we think we do…I may not “like” waiting on God, but there’s really not too much I can do about it…HE’s the Boss! And, I do mean the absolute, real, unchallenged BOSS who loves His servants also known as His children.

Do you want to know how I learned this? Through various storms and trials that God sent into our lives that did not work out the way we had wanted, hoped for, or prayed for….Doors that shut and NO ONE could open them, and GOD wouldn’t open them! It’s hard to learn that life is not all about “me,” “myself,” and “I” nor about “we,” “us,” or “ours.” It’s about God and them…All the “thems” that we know nothing about…But, God does! He SEES and KNOWS the Bigger Picture!

To be perfectly honest, sometimes (which is most times) I can’t explain what God is doing, why HE is doing it, or How HE is doing it…I just know (Believe!) that HE is…And, I believe God counted it unto Abraham as “righteousness” because he Believed!! I can take Comfort in Knowing that God is God!

Go ahead; talk to God in prayer…Tell him your feelings; your perspective; your will; your wishes; your wants; your desires, Your feelings, and your likes and dislikes. He already knows them, but HE is waiting for you to “surrender” them to HIM to see if you really and truly want HIS will in the matter or you just “talk” like you do…As the old saying goes, “talk is cheap!” And, believe me, God knows cheap talk! God knows when we are upset, frustrated, and angry because HE isn’t moving on the scene the way “we” think He should… Yet; He understands our turmoil over such things…Remember, HE IS GOD! I take comfort crying before God and sharing with Him my emotions…I know HE is listening to me even if HE chooses not to answer my prayer need in the fashion I desire…God is always a Just God…By faith I have learned that HE has a better plan…HE knows what I stand in need of and how it fits into the full picture; the total picture of my life…I can assure you that after you have cried out your heart, mind, feelings, and emotions before GOD HE will bring Comfort as NO one can…I can then say with the Apostle Paul, “I Find His Grace is Sufficient For Me.”

Let’s end in prayer: “Thank you Sweet Jesus that you love and understand the weak frame of your children and our human hearts and limited minds…We Praise you because you are not a god, but you are the GOD; the everlasting, all-knowing, all present GOD…Hallelujah…God thank you for those times when we can not take one-day-at-a-time but rather only one-second; one breath at a time to get through our circumstances…During such times, we can Trust You…You are ever Faithful…You will never leave nor forsake your own even when we do not and cannot understand THY ways…And, though our physical eyes cannot see…By Faith, we can crown you King of Kings and Lord of Lords over our lives until we meet face to face on that great eternal day in Heaven on high…Until then, please accept our “surrendered” weaknesses as proof of our faith, love, and belief in You…

Remember, God Loves You…Even in the darker times When God Seemingly Doesn’t Answer….

Hold to the Rock of Ages…

Hold to the Rock of Ages…

Storms of life and trials that endure for years, some even for decades, can rob us at times of our inward strength, abilities, and energies. The enemy, God’s enemy, begins to believe that he is winning over our “will,” and even God’s will for our life, and that we will eventually become a “quitter” on God. But, God’s children are not “quitters.”

Perhaps, at one point you were strong in the Lord, obedient, determined, dedicated, and totally dependent upon His leading in your life…For years and years you faithfully served God and others in His loving protection, promises, and provisions…But, suddenly, the unseen protective Hands of God seemed to vanish from you life and the enemies’ thunder, lightnings, and clouds were all you could see. At first, you thought the violent storm would eventually pass over; but it didn’t. Instead of passing by, it stopped right over you and stayed much longer than you ever anticipated or prepared yourself for. In the midst of the ongoing storm you tried to find your wits and sense of it all, but they seemed lost in the swelling tides of the storm. After a while, your senses began to dull and you didn’t know how to behave or handle the plethora of emotions that were bombarding your heart and mind practically daily; minute by minute. Somedays you were able to find solace in Prayer and Scripture readings, but then the next day everything is filled with added turmoil and uncertainities…To say the least, the enemy has you on the run…And, it appears to be a “run for your life,” except for one thing…The more you run the more you run into obstacles that hurt and harm you…You know that you need to stand still but standing still in such a strong storm goes against every grain in your mind and body.

The natural voices within tell you to run…It’s the old, “fight or flight” sydrome…By running I mean, “fix it,” “do something,” or, “make it go away.” Even though you know the verse, “Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord,” all too well you still feel the need to “do something,” because if you don’t the storm will overtake your life and “all” will be lost. So, you are in a quandary and nothing in life makes sense to you anymore. And, believe me I know, that when you are experiencing such a long, long lasting storm many of your friends and family will tend to depart…After all, it’s your storm; not their’s…Thankfully, you do experience short, brief periods of “sunshine” when the thunder and lightnings cease momentarily, but when they return they return with a vengence…One minute you are up and the next second you are down being tossed under the raging waters’ currents…No one, and I mean NO ONE, seems willing to throw you a “life- line” of rescue. Most of the people you know are just standing on the sidelines of life shaking their heads in disbelief as they watch you try to balance the strong and ever stronger waves pounding upon the seashore of your battled-life…They don’t want to “see it.” They don’t want to “hear it.” So, they look the other way…To them, it’s just too taxing to watch you endure…

Sadly, those once closest to you start to lose faith in “your faith” and start believing that you are all “washed up.” To them, you are a wreck; a train wreck; a crash; a plane crash…They may even accuse you of being a “nut case.” It appears that All the works and efforts of your past have been destroyed layer by layer…You feel spiritually exhausted, naked, ravished, and ashamed.

Why me, Lord? Why me? You ask yourself over and over…But, wait…Why NOT me? Who am I not to endure such heartaches and trials? Why should I be any different than any other human being on planet Earth who also endures personal trials and defeats at various times within their lives? What team player wins 100% of the time? Who hasn’t thrown a few foul balls in their time or struck out? Who among us is Perfect, let him cast the first stone? Even my own Savior was persecuted, stripped of his garments, and nailed to a Cross…What world do I think I live? Do I wish to live where “all” is happy, happy, happy 24/7? That world does not exist; well, not YET anyway. But, it will one day for those of us who are alive in Christ Jesus! For we will be where He is and we will ALL be happy, happy, happy 24/7…But, until then….we must learn to endure…to carry our own Cross…to know that we know that we know that God is on our side…

With God on our side, and in our hearts, we are more than a conqueror through Him… We can say with full assurance, “I will survive…I will endure…I will see the SONSHINE again upon my life…I will learn to know both defeat and victory as it is appointed unto man to know…Until then, Glory, Glory, and More Glory unto the God who gives and takes away…Praise be unto His Holy Name!”

After the storm passes, and, yes, my friend, it will one day pass…we will rebuild upon the Blessed Rock of Ages…we will cut our losses and we will rebuild…We will survive the many hurricanes, the tsunami, the tornadoes, the floods, and the raging seas with all of its fury to one day stand stronger and taller upon our Foundation of Faith (God’s Faith) not built upon sand, but upon the everlasting, Blessed Rock of Ages! Until then, my heart will go on singing…until then I will Praise His Name…until then I will HOLD TO THE Blessed ROCK OF AGES…Until Then I Will Go to the Rock of Ages! Amen…

Remember, Even in the Storm, God Still Loves You!

Not of Works, Less Any Man Should Boast…

But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. (Romans 4:15)

I want to suggest that you go back and read the first six words of the above scripture, “But to him that worketh NOT…” Whew! What a relief…Salvation does not and cannot come through or by man’s “works.” We cannot work our way into Heaven or into God’s good Graces. It is only through belief and faith that we are “justified,” made right, with God. Sadly, there are so many religions that “require” people to do this or to do that in order to receive salvation; or eternal life with God. Then, even on top of all of their do’s and don’ts a person cannot be assured of his or her salvation before they die…What a dreadful way to live never knowing for certain if you are or are not saved by faith through Jesus Christ…But, thanks be unto God we can know for certain, without a doubt, that our redemption stands sure by simply believing what God says in HIS words known as the BIBLE…And, in the book of Romans, we learn that Salvation is not of works, or at least man’s works, but totally and fully dependent upon God’s works through Jesus Christ. Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith…I am as secured in my salvation through Christ Jesus as if I am already living in glory! I may not be living in glory right this moment, but I have a place prepared and when I do leave this old life I will go directly to that wonderful place; where Christ is. The Apostle Paul said to be “absent from the body is to be present with Christ.” Amen…
Today, you may belong to a particular organization or religion that requires you to perform certain works or tasks in order to receive salvation. My friend, this is simply not true. All we ever need has already been provided to us through the perfect conception, perfect life, and perfect blood of Jesus shed at Calvary and through His triumphant resurrection. If you believe in that Truth, then, my friend, you belong to God through Jesus Christ. I encourage you today to make your preparation sure through the Word of God and not through a man-made religious plan. However, once we receive the finished works of Christ Jesus into our hearts and the sealing of our souls until the day of redemption we will want to work for His kingdom out of pure Joy, Love, Excitement, and Pleasure…For, we know that we are saved; therefore we want to spread and share our Joy with others through kind deeds and acts of kindness and being about our Heavenly Father’s business. Not to be saved, but that we are already Saved! Praise be unto God who took it upon Himself to design Redemption’s plan for all of mankind. Oh, what a Savior is Mine!

He’s Still Working on Me…

He’s Still Working on Me…

Looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our Faith…(Hebrews 12:2)

Have you ever gotten really disgusted with yourself in your Christian walk, life, and faith?  We all have. It seems we can be moving forward in faith enjoying our Christian walk when “boom” we either walk right into a brick wall or right over a cliff!

For days, perhaps even weeks, we beat ourselves up feeling defeated. But, we shouldn’t do that. God knows “our path,” and He knows our heart’s intentions.  We have an enemy, Satan, whose job is to defeat us, destroy us, and take away the JOY of our Salvation…But, we don’t have to let him to that to us. We can accept our human weaknesses and imperfections and trust that Jesus Christ will never love us anymore or any less than the day He died for us on Mt. Calvary for our sins. You can gladly sing 24/7, “Jesus loves me this I know!”

When a Christian falls, errs, he or she typically gets right back up and continues on “in” the Christian path. They don’t let a mistake in judgment rule the rest of their life.  They quickly confess it (whatever it is (I John 1:9) to God and trust that HE will forgive them and restore their relationship to the fullest.  But, when a person dwells in “sin” and continues therein, they have a terrible problem…Their life does not reflect being a true born-again Christian.

True born-again Christians know that God is Still Working on them while they daily seek His face and will for their life. Oh, my friend I’m so glad that I can say, “He’s (God) Still Working on Me.”  Even though on yesterday I may have faltered I have blessed HOPE and ASSURANCE that HE’ STILL WORKING ON ME… Today, I may falter.  Tomorrow, I may falter.  Next week I may falter, but I still have that blessed hope and assurance that He’s Still Working on Me….No matter how hard “I” try I know that I am NOT perfect and I will always stand in need of a loving Savior called Jesus Christ as I continue here on Earth in my journey of Faith in Christ…Amen.

Remember, God Loves You! (24/7)
