Hello!  WELCOME to my inspirational blog site, Break Away, which is also the title of my first Christian fiction romance novel published by WestBowPress.com in December 2010.

The book, Break Away, is about a pastor’s daughter who meets the love of her life only to have him fall into various temptations as he runs from God’s call upon his life. It’s a story of love, endurance, patience, and God’s ever faithful and unseen hand in the lives of its characters. If you enjoy reading Christian fiction please check me out at  www.westbowpress.com   In the search box, just type in my last name, Rollins. or the title of my book, “Break Away”

As for me, I am a Christian who has been married to my husband, Richard Rollins, for the past forty years. We have three beautiful adult daughters, including twins, and nine wonderful  grandchildren. My husband has recently retired from full-time ministry as a Baptist pastor for the past thirty years. We are truly a very blessed family; indeed.

Six weeks after having had back surgery (fusion of L4-L5 discs), I suffered a bilateral vertebral artery dissection with hemorrhage on August 17, 2010.  This resulted in the need to retire from teaching public school where I taught middle-grades English, Reading, and Social Studies. (I loved teaching kids!)

The artery dissection was actually my second spontaneous brain injury within five years, as I suffered a cerebral brain aneurysm in 2005 which was able to be successfully repaired. Needless to say, I feel very blessed and fortunate beyond measure to be alive and able to conduct my life with only mild to moderate limitations. God has certainly blessed me in more ways than I ever deserve!

Being retired has opened up new opportunities for me in writing; one of my many passions in life.  I also enjoy playing the piano, writing music, swimming, walking, reading, and of course spending precious time with my grandchildren!

I enjoy encouraging others as well as being encouraged by the Words of God; the Bible. I especially enjoy participating in and teaching ladies’ Bible studies.  God is so Good!

I hope you will find time in your busy schedule to Break Away to become a fan and follower of my inspirational blog site.  I pray that each blog will be a blessing to you and a source of encouragement in your life.

Thank you again for “clicking” by and if you’d like,  please leave a comment if you enjoy a particular blog.

Remember, God Loves You!

  1. I’m excited to receive your daily messages…you are truly an inspiration and a blessing to me, and to all who know and call you friend

  2. Your book sounds very interesting! I may have to look at sometime. Your story is even more fascinating. I lost a good friend of mine several years ago to a brain aneurysm. It is evident, God has spared your life for a purpose. Keep writing!

  3. Estrangement and Alienation has become an epidemic. I am so grateful to come across this with kind loving scripture to go with the wounds and the pain that are so deep with this problem. I have a facebook group called Alienated and Estranged Parents and Grandparents where there are many that have plainly been abandoned as well. I will spread the word around about your page. God Bless you and your family. Pam

  4. I am laying it all at the foot of the cross. Praying I will have the wisdom to leave it there. Read 2 of your blogs on family and estranged relationships, such a blessing. I was brought to tears, then to my knees, encouraged to seek Him and made to realize, once again, that only He can make a change in a person’s heart. Seeing your latest entry of October 2017, hoping you continue to write and share.
