“This is the Condemnation…”
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. (John 3:19)
Last night, I watched a news report on ABC’s 20/20 regarding two teenage girls in high school engaged in a homosexual relationship. The report stated that the older girl, a senior age eighteen, was involved with a younger girl, a freshman age fourteen. The older teen was charged with having sexual relationships with a minor. She was jailed for two years and sentenced three years probation.
Actually, I was glad to see that the Law, in this particular case, “swings” both ways. I am certain that some would have wanted the charges to be dismissed because it was a girl with a girl relationship. But, how many little girls have been the victims of older girls wishing to “experiment” with their own sexual desires, fantasies, and preferences? Many a little girls have been violated by the “experiments” of older girls. And, sadly, the same is true with little boys being molested by older boys and men.
A few years back, while I was still teaching in public school, a group of eight grade girls invited a group of sixth grade girls to a party. When the sixth grade girls arrived, they soon discovered that the older girls were engaged in sexual activities with one another. The object of the “party-game” was for the “new” sixth grade girls to participate. However, a couple of the sixth grade girls refused. So, they called their parents asking to come home. When these parents discovered what was happening at the party, they reported it to the authorities and to the school board. Since all of the girls involved at the party were minors, no charges were legally filed, but lessons were definitely learned.
In another similar account, a group of upcoming freshmen were invited to participate with the high school band at a football game. The eight graders invited were very excited about the opportunity to perform at the high school football game. However, after their half time performance, these same eight graders discovered that many of the band members were blatantly engaging in public display of affection one with another; both heterosexual and homosexual, even as staff members and other spectators silently stood by. The scenes were so disturbing for some of the eight graders that they quit the band and never tried out the following fall.
Scenes like this are becoming too many and too widespread across our nation and globe. Those who prefer to remain in a traditional, Bible-believing, heterosexual life-style are becoming the butt-end of jokes and mockery. Good is being called, “bad,” and “bad” is being called, “good.”
The Bible warns us of these approaching times right before the return of Christ Jesus for his bride, the church. Because of such accounts, we have arrived at a time when parents “must” inform their children of the evil deeds of darkness. We must teach our children and grandchildren that they will be persecuted and mocked for their Biblical beliefs and stand…Yet; we must teach them to stand strong. We cannot afford to take these accounts, events, and happenings lightly…Our heritage depends upon it.
The Bible teaches that man has always preferred “darkness” to the “Light.” Jesus Christ being the Light. The Bible teaches us in the book of Luke that, “You will be betrayed even by parents, brothers, relatives, and friends, and they will put some of you to death. All men will hate you because of me (Jesus Christ). But not a hair of your head will perish. By standing firm you will gain life.” (Luke 21: 16-19 NIV).
The teachings and prophecies of the Bible are sure. They have been forever proven right from the beginning and have no doubt of being proven right for our future…The Lord’s coming is at hand; and we must stand strong against the wiles of Satan and the evil deeds of darkness. Our children and grandchildren will not be able to stand without strong Biblical teachings on these matters. We cannot afford to put our “heads in the sand” and dismiss what is happening all around us. God forbid.
Today, if you have not already done so, meet with your children and grandchildren. Take out the Word of God, the Bible, and plainly show them the future persecutions of those who “believe” and “follow” the ways of the Lord…But, more than anything else show them the future that God has promised to all those who “believe” and “follow” HIS ways. I encourage you NOT to wait for another day…Today, is the day of Salvation…Amen.
Remember, God Loves You!
