This is the Day Which the Lord Hath Made…

This is the Day Which the Lord Hath Made…

This the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it…(Psalm 11:24 KJV)

Can you rejoice today?  Whatever your circumstance, can you rejoice?  Most people would answer that question based upon their circumstances, emotions, and feelings.  Most people, even Christians, have a difficult time “rejoicing” under harder, more difficult times…But, that is not what the Psalmist King David teaches us…He teaches us that the DAY belongs to the LORD and we will be glad in it!

As I was growing up, I always heard the old saying, “It could be a lot worse.”  And, as I got older I realized how true that can be!  Everything can be a whole lot worse…Sadly, but even the pain we are enduring today could be a whole lot worse tomorrow…The trial we are facing right now could be far worse in the long run….I know NOT very encouraging on an inspirational blog site!  I know, but it is true.  We must learn to be grateful and thankful in the moment we live; no matter our circumstances we can always rejoice in the LORD.

Murmuring and complaining and feeling the world should STOP for our woes just isn’t healthy for anyone…But, we all have tendencies to murmur, whine, and complain…But, Jesus NEVER did.  He faced each day with its many challenges knowing that the day belonged to His Heavenly Father; God!  And, your day and my day belongs to God as well.

I wonder how much smaller our plights of trials might be if we looked at each new day as an opportunity to “rejoice” and be “glad” in it?  I know I have done my share of murmuring and complaining down through the years and it got me no where…Just deeper into sadness and depression.  The only thing that helped was when I truly began each day Praising God for the Gift of Life and the Breath of Life…As Dr. Charles Stanley often says, “Obey God and leave the consequences (results) in His Hands.”  Dr. Stanley, like the rest of us Christians must do, learned patience and acceptance in his life…It’s a part of the Fruit of the Spirit being worked “out” and worked “in” our lives…

Funny thing about growing fruit, it has to be “pinched” off in order to blossom and grow the next season!

Maybe, today you are going through a “pinching off” time in your own life…Don’t kid yourself, being “pinched” hurts!  And, when God is doing the pinching it can really hurt…But, learn a valuable lesson….Praise God Anyway!  No matter what you are facing in your life, right now where you are, stop and thank God for the Gift of Life and the Breath of Life…And, let HIM know that you are fully putting your trust in HIM to carry you to the other side of your trials, burdens, disappointments, and battles….

Remember, God Loves You (throught the storm!)  Rejoice and Be Glad…

Spiritual Warfare

Spiritual Warfare…

THERE is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk NOT after the flesh, but after the Spirit…(R0mans 8:1)

After serving God for over thirty-five years in the ministry alongside of my husband, I have come to the conclusion that many of the trials we often refer to as Spiritual Warfare are actually battles of self-will…whether or not to please the flesh or not please the flesh.  Even though it is an extremely complicated process while going through the trials of Spiritual Warfare, it is actually quite black and white; the choice between good or evil; right or wrong.

Several years ago I was told about a preacher friend suffering from a nervous breakdown.  Without giving too much thought, I quickly asked, “What’s her name?”  The person whom I was conducting the coversation looked quite surprised by my response.  I realized that I had shocked her with my comment.  But, over the years I have witnessed time after time both men and women suffering from all kinds of ills, ailments, disorders, issues, confusions, and trials brought on by evil attacks of lusts and sins of the flesh…In other words, “I want that, but I know I can’t have it, but I want it anyway!” So, the battle is on….And, it can be a very intense battle to say the least!  (Please note that I am NOT saying that all matters of illnesses or breakdowns are brought on by sins of the flesh, I am just saying that warfare of the flesh can bring on at times such ailments and results within our lives.)

When we are being tempted by the desires and lusts of the flesh it’s like being squeezed out at the pumps…Around and around we go, where we’ll stop only God knows!  We dig in. We pray. We read our Bible more. We think we are doing everything right to get ourselves beyond the temptation, but wham-bam thank you ma’am we find ourselved knee-deep, no rather chest deep, right in the middle of it…Why?  Because we failed to do the one thing we should have done in the beginning…WALK AWAY FROM SIN AND WALK DIRECTLY TOWARDS GOD WITHOUT COMPROMISE!!!

All the Devil needs to attack our Spiritual lives is one ounce or less of good old-fashioned compromise.  Just a little thought here and a little thought there…a little look here and a little look there…a little relaxation here and a little relaxation there…a little time off here and a little time off there from our Chrisitan activities….a little pride here and a little pride there…and before we know it the little baby steps that we took AWAY from God turn out being giant steps miles and miles away from God!  Like the old saying goes, “Sin takes you farther than you wanted to go and kept you longer than you wanted to stay.”

The trouble with the consequences of “sin” is that it just doesn’t affect the one who compromises…it affects everyone around the compromiser…It can affect an entire family!  Sin comes with a price and it also charges interest.  If it took you seven years to get into a sin, it can take you fourteen years to get out!  If it took you one year to get into a sin, it can take you two years to get out!  And, the getting out part is not always easy…It takes great determination, dedication and focused faith upon God! Sometimes a person may need assistance and counseling to find their way back… Yes; God forgives our sins, but He doesn’t always take away the challenges and hurdles it will take to get us out of our “confessed” and “forsakened” sins…The choices are ours to make.

After a person has gone through a good old-fashioned battle of sin with the flesh, it’s easier to detect and take notice of the traps that got you there to begin with…If you learned and gained wisdom in your Spiritual battle, you will receive victory in your life the next time “sin” comes knocking…You simply will refuse to answer the door!  However If you didn’t learn through your prior mistakes and choices, the next round can be even more devastating on your life and those around you.  Sadly, too many times it takes some people several rounds of warfare before they learn not to compromise with the Devil and with the lusts of the flesh.

My friend, you may think that the issues you are facing right now won’t send you over-the-edge and that you actually have it all under control…But, you can NEVER outwit the Devil; don’t even think about it or entertain such an idea. Satan can win in a knock-out punch anytime He chooses when you have allowed Him to enter into your life through some venue of choice.  Satan knows how to take it to the mat! (As one would say in the sport of wrestling!)  And, we don’t wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the Powers and Rulers of Darkness…Never, take compromise lightly…It is of Satan’s team…Team Satan!  And, that’s a team you don’t want to fight!

Yes; greater is HE (Jesus Christ) who is in you than he who is in the world…And, that means making the right choices to begin with. Jesus doesn’t have to fight Satan; he’s already won the battle.  Jesus won’t go to the mats with Satan; he doesn’t have to…and neither do you…Choose wisely when given the choice…Choose right from wrong…The Bible clearly teaches, “To him who knows to do good and chooses not to, it is sin.”

When you realize that you have “sinned,” as we all do quickly confess it and turn away from your sins…No, rather run away from your sin….Take hold of your life and run to Jesus…In doing so you can save yourself and those around you a lot of grief, pain, and woe.   “THERE is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk NOT after the flesh, but after the Spirit…”(Romans 8:1)

He’s Still Working on Me…

He’s Still Working on Me…

Looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our Faith…(Hebrews 12:2)

Have you ever gotten really disgusted with yourself in your Christian walk, life, and faith?  We all have. It seems we can be moving forward in faith enjoying our Christian walk when “boom” we either walk right into a brick wall or right over a cliff!

For days, perhaps even weeks, we beat ourselves up feeling defeated. But, we shouldn’t do that. God knows “our path,” and He knows our heart’s intentions.  We have an enemy, Satan, whose job is to defeat us, destroy us, and take away the JOY of our Salvation…But, we don’t have to let him to that to us. We can accept our human weaknesses and imperfections and trust that Jesus Christ will never love us anymore or any less than the day He died for us on Mt. Calvary for our sins. You can gladly sing 24/7, “Jesus loves me this I know!”

When a Christian falls, errs, he or she typically gets right back up and continues on “in” the Christian path. They don’t let a mistake in judgment rule the rest of their life.  They quickly confess it (whatever it is (I John 1:9) to God and trust that HE will forgive them and restore their relationship to the fullest.  But, when a person dwells in “sin” and continues therein, they have a terrible problem…Their life does not reflect being a true born-again Christian.

True born-again Christians know that God is Still Working on them while they daily seek His face and will for their life. Oh, my friend I’m so glad that I can say, “He’s (God) Still Working on Me.”  Even though on yesterday I may have faltered I have blessed HOPE and ASSURANCE that HE’ STILL WORKING ON ME… Today, I may falter.  Tomorrow, I may falter.  Next week I may falter, but I still have that blessed hope and assurance that He’s Still Working on Me….No matter how hard “I” try I know that I am NOT perfect and I will always stand in need of a loving Savior called Jesus Christ as I continue here on Earth in my journey of Faith in Christ…Amen.

Leaness into Their Souls…

Leaness into Their Souls…

But, they lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted GOD in the desert And He gave them their request; but sent leaness into their soul.  (Psalm 106:14-15 KJV)

I don’t know about you but to me the words, “leaness into their souls,” has a very dark, dreary, sickly, scary, and negative connotation.  Anyone knows the difference between “fatness” and “leaness,” just look at a good cut of beef or steak.  “Lean” is less!

And, what God is saying unto the Israelites is that he will give them “what they want,” but it will cost them in their souls!  A good research into both philosophy and psychology will reveal that the “soul” of man is contained within his mind, memories, and thoughts.  Oh, stay with  me; this is going to get good!

Our nation is currently “suffering leaness of the soul.”  How?  Look at all the political, social, financial, and societal issues and unrest we are facing…NO ONE KNOWS WHAT TO DO ANYMORE TO CORRECT THEM!!  We are experiencing LEANESS IN OUR MINDS, MEMORIES, AND THOUGHTS!!  Our leaders are failing us because our nation is suffering from “LEANESS” being sent directly by God into our souls…

Do you see it?  Our minds, memories, and thoughts are THE AREAS OF man’s INTELLIGENCE!!!  God adds to or takes away from man’s  intelligence!!…Man cannot solve his own problems without God; it takes the MIND OF CHRIST….Since we have become a nation that no longer looks unto God for HIS ways or His answers we have become weakened in our minds and thoughts (leaness); unable to resolve our own issues.  As a result, we are now looking unto our own weary “LEAN” (souls)  MINDS!  This is why things keep getting worse, worse, and more worse!  And, they will continue getting worse until we as a people and nation repent and turn back unto GOD! (II Chronicle 7:14)

I read somewhere on yesterday that this nation alone aborted nearly 400,000 babies last year.  And the caption to the article read, “Would the nation have reacted differently had they been killed with guns!”   Makes you think, doesn’t it….Yes; it was painfully disturbing hearing of those 20+ children gunned down by a sin-sick madman. Our hearts and minds cannot even fathom the wretched loss, grief, and woe those families are enduring.  Yet; women all around our country march into clinics or hospitals every day killing the life of an unborn child within them; a life.  Is it no doubt why God has sent “leaness” into our souls!

Abortion is only one sin-crime that our nation partakes.  Everywhere you look these days ungodly institutions such as Hollywood, varieties of marketing schemes, and the fashion industries bombard our thoughts and minds with filthy scenes of lust, sex, fornication, adultery, and homosexuality.  Every object marketed these days seems to have some sort of sexual connotation involved; even a dust mop!

Before God “sent leaness” into the souls of the Israelites the Bible tells us that the people “LUSTED EXCEEDINGLY.” I truly believe that when it takes “sex” to sell a dust mop that it is a sign that our nation is “LUSTING EXCEEDINGLY!”  And, don’t get me started about how our closets have grown larger and larger over the years and all of these storage facilities popping up all across the country to hold our belongings!  America could clothe the entire world with many of its excessive closets and belongings!  And, we wonder why God has sent “leaness” into our souls!

In closing, let me say this…One of the most grieveious sins in the eyes of God is the act of committing sex with same-sex partners.  I don’t care what the media or Hollywood are trying to do in corrupting the minds and souls of our land homosexuality is and always has been a reprobate sin in God’s eyes.  As our nation continues to bow down its moral conscience to homosexuality we will move farther and farther away from God and closer and closer to judgment.  In the Old Testament, Abraham himself asked God to spare Sodom and Gomorrah if only TEN righteous men could be found. When God looked down on the “sins” of Sodom and Gomorrah He could not find TEN living rightly unto God, therefore God, himself, destroyed the cities. (Genesis 18:20 through Genesis 19:28).

My friend, we are already experiencing “leaness into our souls.”  It is my prayer that we will return unto God before our “leaness” leads us straight into judgment.  God is a merciful God extending both HIs Grace and Mercy to thousands of generations.  May His people call upon His name before it is everlasting too late.

Be careful of what we “want,” because it can send “leaness” into our souls…Amen.

Day 30 Celebrating Immanuel

Day 30 Celebrating Immanuel

“And Simeon spoke, “For my eyes have seen thy (God’s)  Salvation…” (Luke 2: 30 KJV)

In closing my thirty-part series on, “Celebrating Immanuel,” let me ask you this question, “Have your eyes seen God’s Salvation?”

First, you may ask, “What is salvation?”  According to the dictionary, salvation is the saving of somebody or something from harm, destruction, difficulty, or failure.

Christian Salvation is believing in the Person, Jesus Christ, as being our eternal Saving Savior from all sin, harm, destruction, difficulty, and failure…We are saved from our Sins through the sinless Blood of Jesus Christ.  We are saved from eternal harm through the victorious Blood of Jesus Christ. We are saved from final destruction by the miraculous Blood of Jesus Christ.  We are delivered from painful difficulty and enduring failure through the sustaining Blood of Jesus Christ.  Through the Blood of Jesus Christ we are Saved!

You ask me how I know I’m Saved?  Because He lives within my heart!  Just as Simeon saw Jesus in person on that historic day I, too, have seen Him through Faith and by Faith.  What is Faith?  The substance of things HOPED for and the evidence of things NOT yet seen! (Hebrews 11:1).  We, as Christians, see Jesus through the eyes of Faith.  We see Him through our Hearts and our Minds.  We feel His presence in our hearts and lives…And, each day, as we continue to believe in Him, He reveals Himself to us more and more. How?  Through His Word, The Holy Bible.

Oh, my friend, you too can see Jesus today by faith.  All you have to do is BELIEVE.  BELIEVE IN GOD.  BELIEVE IN GOD’S ONLY SON, JESUS CHRIST, SAVIOR OF THE WORLD…For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not die but have everlasting life! (John 3:16)….Jesus saves us from eternal death (eternal separation from God)!  Now, that’s Salvation! Hallelujah!

I, like Simeon, Praise the Lord for my eyes have seen the Salvation of God!  Thank you Sweet Jesus…Amen.

Day 29 Celebrating Immanuel

Day 29 Celebrating Immanuel

“In Him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.” John 1:4-5 KJV

In “Jesus Christ: is life!  There is no LIFE outside of Christ Jesus.  Oh, you might be living, breathing, and walking around on planet Earth, but True LIFE is in the Blood of Christ..

Why would anyone desire “darkness,” “sin,” and “death” over “Light,” “Righteousness,”  and “Eternal Life?”  Because man’s ways are wicked and sinful from the start.  Nevertheless, God sent His only begotten Son so that whosoever believes in Him (Jesus Christ) shall not perish (die) but have everlasting Life!  (John 3:16)  You have a choice, and the choice is your’s to make.

If you are like me, the ongoing deterioration (darkness) of our moral society is staggering to the imagination.  Just flipping through the channels on any TV set can boggle the mind.  Oh, the sad, corrupt, offensive, and awful things we can see within a few seconds of time. God forbid what all of “this” is doing to the hearts and minds of our children, teens, and younger adults.  Sin (darkness and unrighteousness) is running rampant through our streets, towns,  and homes. No more is the LIGHT of God seen as being Good, but rather as being weak and intolerable.  Oh, how we need the LIGHT OF GOD shining upon our nation, homes, and lives…Lord, bring Revival to our hearts!!

Yet; the Bible teaches us, “And the Light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended (understood it not) it not.”  Oh, how grateful I am that God lead me to the Light that most precious day when I surrendered my life to Christ Jesus; my Lord and Savior.  From that moment unto this day I have walked in His presence and seen His Light.  He through His Words contained in the Holy Bible teaches me right from wrong. He shows me the path that I must tread.  He carries me when I cannot carry myself…Oh, how thankful I am this morning in the Joy of Knowing Him as my Lord and Savior; for I will never live in total darkness…I have seen the Light!  Hallelujah Praise God; Honor and Glory be unto His name…

Today, you may be wondering in darkness and sin without Hope, but there is Hope in Jesus Christ.  Come to the LIGHT; come out of the darkness. Come to the ONLY one who can give you Hope, assurance, and an eternal home in Heaven.  He is but a prayer away; as close as your lips calling upon Him, believing in HIm, and testifying unto Him…That He is Lord and the Light of the world…Amen.  Want you give Him your life today…Only in Him will you find LIFE and be able to walk in the Light of His Fellowship and Word.  Amen.

Day 28 Celebrating Immanuel

Day 28 Celebrating Immanuel

“Then Joseph being raised from sleep DID as the angel of the LORD had bidden (instructed) him.  (Matthew 1:24 KJV)

True and fulfilled blessings from God come through simple obedience.  So many want or desire God’s favor and blessings upon their life but they do not want to “obey” God’s instructions.  Sadly, these are usually the same people who make fun of those who do heed to God’s Word in obedience.

If your family is anything like mine it consists of a variety of different personalities, philosophies, practices, and beliefs.  I am blessed with aunts, uncles, and cousins who are all faithful to God and to His commands.  What a blessing they are to me in my life.  On the other hand, sadly, I have extended family members who boast of their “unbelief” and total disregard of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.  They choose to live a more worldly, secular lifestyle with lots of “free-choices.”

But, what they fail to see and recognize is that their “free-choices” will not be free one day.  Nothing in life is ever free.  My personal Salvation through Jesus Christ cost Him everything; including His own life.  As the old Gospel hymn proclaims, “There’ll Be a Pay Day Someday.”  Either our lives and souls have been bought and purchased by the Blood of the Lamb (Jesus Christ), or they are forever indebted to Satan.  A person’s sin debt is either paid-in-full by Jesus Christ or paid-in-full at the time of death directly to Satan himself….God, have mercy.

One thing that stands out about the immaculate conception, birth, and young life of Jesus is the absolute obedience of his earthly parents, Mary and Joseph.  What an example they are to the blessed life of “obedience.”  And, because of their obedience what favor and amazing blessings they experienced.  During Jesus’ life time on earth, they fellowshipped every day with God in the Flesh!  Amen…(John 1:14).

Like Mary and Joseph, we, too, can experience favor and blessings of God through our obedience as well.  Never think for a moment that your faithfulness and obedience to God is not be recording in Heavenly places. God knows his obedient children and He will richly reward them accordingly.  But, let us remember to earnestly pray for those who mock our obedience and make fun of our choices to live according to God’s will and plan for our lives. For sadly, there will be a “Pay Day Someday” for them as well.

Oh, my friend please don’t pay for your life here on earth with your eternal soul pledged to Satan.  Accept God’s Merciful payment for sin through His only begotten Son, Jesus (John 3:16).  Want you become an obedient follower of the Lord just as Joseph “did?”  Then, and only then can you experience the true and fulfilling favor and blessings of God….Your life and soul depends upon it…Amen.

Remember, God Loves You!
