This is the Day Which the Lord Hath Made…
This the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it…(Psalm 11:24 KJV)
Can you rejoice today? Whatever your circumstance, can you rejoice? Most people would answer that question based upon their circumstances, emotions, and feelings. Most people, even Christians, have a difficult time “rejoicing” under harder, more difficult times…But, that is not what the Psalmist King David teaches us…He teaches us that the DAY belongs to the LORD and we will be glad in it!
As I was growing up, I always heard the old saying, “It could be a lot worse.” And, as I got older I realized how true that can be! Everything can be a whole lot worse…Sadly, but even the pain we are enduring today could be a whole lot worse tomorrow…The trial we are facing right now could be far worse in the long run….I know NOT very encouraging on an inspirational blog site! I know, but it is true. We must learn to be grateful and thankful in the moment we live; no matter our circumstances we can always rejoice in the LORD.
Murmuring and complaining and feeling the world should STOP for our woes just isn’t healthy for anyone…But, we all have tendencies to murmur, whine, and complain…But, Jesus NEVER did. He faced each day with its many challenges knowing that the day belonged to His Heavenly Father; God! And, your day and my day belongs to God as well.
I wonder how much smaller our plights of trials might be if we looked at each new day as an opportunity to “rejoice” and be “glad” in it? I know I have done my share of murmuring and complaining down through the years and it got me no where…Just deeper into sadness and depression. The only thing that helped was when I truly began each day Praising God for the Gift of Life and the Breath of Life…As Dr. Charles Stanley often says, “Obey God and leave the consequences (results) in His Hands.” Dr. Stanley, like the rest of us Christians must do, learned patience and acceptance in his life…It’s a part of the Fruit of the Spirit being worked “out” and worked “in” our lives…
Funny thing about growing fruit, it has to be “pinched” off in order to blossom and grow the next season!
Maybe, today you are going through a “pinching off” time in your own life…Don’t kid yourself, being “pinched” hurts! And, when God is doing the pinching it can really hurt…But, learn a valuable lesson….Praise God Anyway! No matter what you are facing in your life, right now where you are, stop and thank God for the Gift of Life and the Breath of Life…And, let HIM know that you are fully putting your trust in HIM to carry you to the other side of your trials, burdens, disappointments, and battles….
Remember, God Loves You (throught the storm!) Rejoice and Be Glad…
