Day 23 Celebrating Immanuel

Day 23 Celebrating Immanuel

In the beginning was the WORD, and WORD was with GOD, and the WORD was God. (John 1:1)

In so many ways the trinity of God still remains somewhat of a mystery to us even today.  God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Ghost. But, we know that God the Father spoke all things into existence (Genesis 1:3).  And, we know that God is called the WORD (John 1:1), and we know that the WORD became flesh and dwelled among us, which is interpreted, Immanuel (John 1:14).  And, we know that the Spirit of God (Holy Ghost) works in the world and in the hearts and lives of man according to God’s will and purpose (Genesis 1:2 and Acts 1:8).  The blessed Trinity of God. Amen.

How wonderful it is to know that the Triune Power of God rests in the hearts of man as a result of the birth of Jesus.  Jesus was and is God’s ultimate demonstration of Love, Faith, and Kindness shown towards sinful man.  Without the Love of God, we would all be lost and without Hope.  But, thanks be unto God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost we have an eternal HOPE that dwells among us.

My finite mind cannot fully understand God’s infinite love towards fallen man.  It seems we struggle and struggle to “understand.” And, the more we try to understand the more of a true mystery it becomes.  The more we understand the greater our Faith in God that while we were yet sinners God sent His Son to die for our sins.  Yet; the Bible teaches us that we cannot please God without Faith…So, Faith was built into our belief system in order to Please God and to follow God with all of our heart, soul, and mind.

This morning, you may be like me and want to know as much about God as you possibly can.  Yet; no man, woman, boy, or girl can or ever will know ALL that there is to know about our Blessed Savior.  His Greatness is a wonder.  His Love is an amazement.  His Mercy and Grace are astonishing…The more you know; the more you want to know!  And the best place to find out about God is in His WORD…His Holy Word; the Words of God; the only true source…The Bible.  And, the WORD became flesh and dwelled among us…. Just makes a person want to snuggle up to the Bible…Oh, how Good it is! Amen.

Remember, God Loves You!

Day 22 Celebrating Immanuel

Day 22 Celebrating Immanuel

Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.  (Luke 2:12 KJV)

What a famous verse of scripture this is…”You shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.”  But, let’s exchange the word “babe” for some of God’s other titles:

“Ye shall find the Word wrapped in swaddling clothes…”  (John 1:14)

“Ye shall find the Christ wrapped in swaddling clothes…”

“Ye shall find the Messiah wrapped in swaddling clothes…”

“Ye shall find the Bread of Life wrapped in swaddling clothes…”

“Ye shall find the Mighty God wrapped in swaddling clothes…”

“Ye shall find the Everlasting Father wrapped in swaddling clothes…”

“Ye shall find the Prince of Peace wrapped in swaddling clothes…”

“Ye shall find the King of Kings and Lord of Lords wrapped in swaddling clothes…”

Oh, the Greatness and Wonder of our Savior, Redeemer, Heavenly Father and Lord…Amen.

Do you know what ingredient is missing in each one of these examples? Pride…You will find NO pride in God…God took upon himself the very flesh of man to die in his place for the sins of the whole world.  Had one ounce, one drop, or one speck of pride been a part of God’s Love towards mankind, we would ALL still be lost and without hope…For pride would have never allowed GOD, our Eternal Great Creator, to ever humble Himself enough to be wrapped in swaddling clothes (rags!).

This is why the scriptures teach us that “our” righteousness is as filthy rags in the sight of God!”

But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. (Isaiah 64:6 KJB)

God doesn’t need our self-righteous, haughtiness in any regard…He humbled himself to be wrapped in “rags” at his birth so that you and I could be “wrapped” in His Righteousness!  Hallelujah! Amen!

Oh, the amazing birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who came as a babe born in a manger “wrapped” in swaddling clothes…  If all of mankind would only realize what God done in giving us His Son who took on the form of God (Immanuel; being interpreted God Dwells Among Us) manifested in the flesh to take your place and my place for the wages of Sin which is eternal death; but the Gift of God is eternal life!

For God So LOVED the world that He GAVE us His only begotten Son, (and you shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes lying in a manger) that whosoever believes in Him shall never perish but have everlasting life.  (John 3:16).

Want you trust Him today…I know I do…Amen.

Remember, God Loves You!

Day 21 Celebrating Immanuel

Day 21 Celebrating Immanuel

Now, when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the day of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? For we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship Him. (Matthew 2:1 KJV)

Wise men still seek Jesus; even today.  Have you ever asked yourself if you would have been a “believer” in Jesus in the days that He was born?

I think the answer to that question lies within your heart today…Do you believe now?  Do you believe in God?  Do you believe in the Bible?  Do you believe in God’s Son, Jesus?  If the answer is “yes,” then most likely you would have believed in him during His time on earth as well.  But, if you don’t believe now, most likely you would not have believed in Him even if you were alive at the time of His birth and life here on earth.

Why do I say that?  Because, just like today it takes Faith to believe in Jesus Christ just as it took Faith to believe in Him at the time of his miraculous birth, sinless life, painful death, and victorious resurrection.  It took Faith for the Three Wise Men to travel unto Bethlehem for the sole purpose of seeking the King of the Jews.  Their very lives were at stake.

They were “wise” because they had studied and believed the Old Testament Scriptures, The Jewish Torah.  They had studied where Prophets like Isaiah had foretold of a “baby” being born unto a virgin in the city of Bethlehem.  They studied that a “star”  (Star of Bethlehem ) would rest over the place of His birth.  And, because they “believed,” they traveled afar to see this Great thing which had come to pass.

Oh, my friend, today, like the Three Wise Men, we need to study, know, and discern the Scriptures; for time is drawing near for the second return of Christ Jesus. This time He will not come as a babe born in a manger, but as King of the whole Earth.  Want you believe?  Want you have Faith in this King of Kings and Lord of Lords whose  second coming is drawing near?

Oh, how I pray to be wise.  I pray to have faith and to believe in the same man-child, Jesus Christ the Lord, as those who believed in Him at his first blessed appearance on Earth…. Amen.

Remember, God Loves You.

Day 20 Celebrating Immanuel (Dec 25th)

candle-light-mistletoe-christmas[1]MERRY CHRISTMAS!

“Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man-child…”  (Isaiah 66: 7 KJV)

Several years ago while studying my Bible, I feel the LORD showed me a great passage, Isaiah 66:7, and provided me with an amazing insight into the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ…  Mary experienced NO labor, pains, or discomfort at His birth!

And, when you think about it; why should she?  God had given woman the curse of bringing forth children in travail (labor) and pain as a result of Eve’s sin in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3:16)… “In sorrow (pain) thou shalt bring forth children…”

The Virgin Mary did not conceive Jesus in Sin…”She was found with child of the Holy Ghost.” (Matthew 1:18). Jesus was no ordinarily conceived baby.  He was God’s only Son. He had no sin.  As a result, NO sin would be involved in either His conception or his birth…So, there would be NO curse upon his conception or his birth!  Mary would NOT know the pain and travail of normal child birth until she delivered children conceived later on by her earthly husband, Joseph.

JESUS CHRIST…A miraculous conception, a miraculous birth, a miraculous life, a miraculous death, a miraculous resurrection…Any way you look at it…Jesus was and is MIRACULOUS!

This is why the whole earth stops to celebrate His birth….THE SINLESS CONCEPTION AND SINLESS BIRTH OF IMMANUEL….AMAZING and AWESOME, AMEN!  Oh, there are so many ways to Celebrate Immanuel…Today, let us Celebrate His Amazing Birth in Bethlehem…Amen.

Remember, God Loves You!

Day 19 Celebrating Immanuel

Day 19 Celebrating Immanuel

Repent, for the kingdom of Heaven is at hand…(Matthew 3:1)

These are now famous words of John the Baptist, Jesus’ first cousin on his mother’s side and also God’s chosen forerunner to the Messiah, “Repent, for the kingdom of Heaven is at hand.”

I think it is somewhat interesting that John the Baptist did not preach, “Believe, for the kingdom of Heaven is at hand.”  But, rather chose a very familiar word to the Jewish nation, “Repent.”

Most understand the meaning of “repent” as “turning away from sin,” which is true. But, in the Bible it also clearly means to “change one’s mind” about something.  And, when a person’s “mind is changed” regarding a matter it is usually followed by action.  True repentance changes a person’s mind, heart, and actions.  One can “believe” in something or someone, but not change their OWN perspectives, philosophies, or actions.  John the Baptist was preaching that the Jewish nation would have to “change their mind and actions” as the kingdom of Heaven, referring to Jesus Christ, is at hand.

The Kingdom of Heaven” is still at hand today just as it was over two thousand years ago and for people to receive and be invited into this wonderful, mighty, everlasting, peaceful Kingdom one still has to “repent” in addition to believing.  True belief and repentance will manifest itself in a person’s ways, attitude, actions, interactions, and choices.  Remember, one can believe without repenting, but to truly repent one must first believe.

I fear that many “believe” but have never repented unto God; meaning to allow Him Lordship over their life.  The Bible clearly states in Matthew 7:23 (Jesus Christ himself speaking):  “And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”  (or never repented from their sins, ways, actions, or choices).  True Salvation is more than just “believing.”

So many today still “choose” their own ways and actions even after they say they “believe” in God. They don’t mind believing in God and in God’s mercy, grace, and love, but they don’t want to believe in His having right of Lordship over their lives.  But, John the Baptist preached one of the greatest messages of all time, “Repent for the kingdom of Heaven is at hand.”  Amen.  Have you believed and repented by asking Jesus Christ into your heart to be LORD over your life?

Day 18 Celebrating Immanuel

Day 18 Celebrating Immanuel

And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ…(Matthew 1:16)

This morning I want to look closer at the meaning of Jesus being called, “Christ.”  Christ comes from the Greek word Christos that means, “Anointed One.”  The Hebrew word for “Anointed One” is Messiah.  Therefore, both Christ in the Greek and Messiah in Hebrew have the same relevent meaning, “Anointed One.”

Now, what exactly does it mean to be called the “Anointed One?”   To be “anointed” indicates a person being set aside by GOD for HIS divine purpose, service, task, or plan. In the Old Testament, the process of being “anointed” included having “OIL” poured over the head by a priest allowing it to run down the face and body symbolizing God’s divine covering and protection.  Kings were “anointed” as well as priests to represent to the people or kingdom that God had chosen them for His specific purpose, service, or task.

In the Old Testament days, people respected and honored those who were “anointed” among them.  King David honored King Saul by not killing him when he had the chance even though King Saul had relentlessly pursued David’s own life for years.  It is written:

Far be it from me because of the  LORD that I should do this thing to my lord, the LORD’S anointed,  to stretch out my hand against him, since he is the LORD’S anointed. (1 Samuel 24:6)

King David refused to “stretch out his hand” against his earthly enemy King Saul, or kill him, because He regarded and honored Saul’s position as a king as being “anointed” of God.  Oh, that we would still pay such honor and respect unto God’s chosen people of service; those called of God for His purpose and plan!

In the book of Matthew, we read:

And she shall bring forth a son and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.  (Matthew 1:21 KJV)

Jesus Christ, being God manifested in the flesh, came for God’s own divine purpose and plan…He was and IS the appointed “ANOINTED ONE” set aside by God to be our long-awaited Savior of the world (John 3:16).  Jesus is Christ the Messiah, the Holy Anointed One of God.

When we say, “Jesus Christ,” we are saying, Jesus the “Anointed One.”  When we call Him Messiah, we are calling Him the “Anointed One.”  We are recognizing, honoring, and paying tribute to Him as being Holy and Divinely set aside by God.  He is our Anointed King of Kings and Lord of Lords…Oh, my friend let us rejoice in that Jesus is CHRIST; the Holy Anointed One sent from God; the HOPE of the world.  Amen.

CHRISTmas is the day we celebrate the earthly birth of Jesus CHRIST; God’s only begotten Son, the ANOINTED ONE!  Amen…Merry Christmas to you!

Day 17 Celebrating Immanuel

Day 17 Celebrating Immanuel

And His Name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

(Isaiah 9:6)

Today, we will finish looking at Isaiah’s prophetic introduction of Jesus Christ.  We have already spoke of his amazing Wonder, Counsel, and being Mighty God, our Everlasting Father…Today, we will look at His title, “Prince of Peace.”

Don’t you just love His title, “Prince of Peace!”  Who doesn’t love a Prince; especially One who will one day rule a Kingdom of Peace!  A “prince” is a male being who is in line for being a King.  By his birthright, he is guaranteed lineage to a kingdom.  He may be first, second, or third in line, but he stands proud and tall above all others as becoming the future king.

In today’s modern world, we see an example of this in the Royal family of the United Kingdom of Great Britain. Prince Charles is first in line as being Great Britain’s next king. He is followed by his oldest son, Prince William who is followed by his brother, Prince Harry.  However, when Prince William, being the first-born son, produces an off-spring, his child will be the next in line (either prince or princess).  But, we know that God’s only Begotten was a Son (Jesus Christ) who will be earth’s future King!  And, He will rule in everlasting Peace!  Hallelujah!

Currently, we live in a fallen world filled with unrest, worries, concerns, anxieties, hate, bitterness, killings, murders, wars, and rumors of war…rising unemploment, housing crisis, rising cost of living, food and water shortages, crimes, rebellions, sicknesses and diseases.  There is little peace, if any, found in the world.  We find real Peace only through God’s assurance that He rules the world and that ALL things are subject unto His great Power and Authority and when HE releases the “curse” on planet Earth ALL things will be at PEACE!

Until then, our Peace comes from “within.”  It comes from within our hearts and mind by trusting in God’s Word and by trusting in God’s Son, Jesus Christ, planet Earth’s future King of Kings and Lord of Lords who will rule once again a planet of great Peace.  No longer will there be any “curse” on planet Earth (Revelation 22:3) No more death. No more sicknesses. No more war or rumors of war.  No more fears, worries, or concerns. The Throne of God will be with man and He will dwell among them (Rev. 21-22) ruling in Righteousness and Peace..

Today, our hearts eagerly await the arrival of our soon coming Prince of Peace; our Risen Savior; our Lord Jesus Christ.  But, until then our hearts go on singing. Until that glorious day when our eyes see Him face to face we will continue to live in the Blessed Hope of our Lord’s future Kingdom of Peace…Oh, yes my friend, our Savior is Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace!  Amen

Remember, God Loves You!
