JOY, JOY, JOY, JOY

JOY, JOY, JOY, JOY…

JOY TO THE WORLD…THE LORD HAS COME…

Don’t you just love those unexpected mornings when you wake up with JOY in your heart and a bounce in your step?!  Not that we shouldn’t awaken each day with Great Joy in our hearts, but there seems to be those days that are just more special; and for no obvious or apparent reason…Just a fresh, wonderful feeling of Joy.

As you most likely can tell, that’s exactly what happened to me this morning.  This is the first time this week I have sat down to write.  I have been sick with strep throat, a sinus infection, and flu-like symptoms…Oh, the past several days have been rough.  But, today, after a visit to the doctor’s office two days ago and receiving three shots and fluids, I finally awoke this morning feeling so much better.  Thank you, Lord…

But, it was more than just physically feeling better. I was also feeling an empowerment from the Holy Spirit that ALL is well with my soul…There it is…That Wonderful Peace and Joy that comes only from above.  You might ask or say, “Well, you must not have any problems or concerns in your life?!”  Oh, my friend…Not so.  We all have concerns, fears, worries, anxieties, doubts, problems, complexities that  boggle the mind, and issues we face.  But, as born-again believers in Christ Jesus, we can take all of our concerns to the Throne Room of God and by Faith let HIM be in charge of our lives; and not we ourselves.

That doesn’t always come easy…It’s usually a life-long learned process that we must Spiritually exercise on a daily basis.  And, this is why it is so special when the Gift of the Holy Spirit awakens us to a morning of Great Joy and Splendor…And, yes we can have it everyday when we allow our hearts and minds, filled with all of its woes, to fully rest in the comfort and trust of our Savior.  And, that’s exactly what I am doing this beautiful cold morning, November 1, 2012.

I hope that today, like me, you can say that your heart is filled with JOY, JOY, JOY, JOY…no matter what the day may bring.  Let us all be reminded to place our cares, concerns, and worries at the feet of Christ and let His Peace and Joy rule our hearts and lives.  It can be done…

I watched my grandmother live to be around ninety-eight years old.  She did not live in luxury for one day in her life. She birthed nine children; eight daughters and one son who died at birth.  Not once did I ever hear her complain about her circumstances.  Yes; she had needs and at times she needed assistance in meeting those needs. But, she always gave thanks unto the Lord for His provisions.  She lived a very modest life never having many of the finer things in life, but her favorite Gospel song was, “Anywhere Is Home If My Lord is There.”  What a privilege it was to have a God-fearing grandmother.  This morning, you may have someone who is or was a sign-of-Faith to you as well. They may have helped you to become stronger in your own faith…Amen… This is a blessing of JOY.  Wonderful, Spirit-Filled JOY!

Today, I wish for you JOY…”

“THE JOY OF THE LORD IS MY STRENGTH.” (Nehemiah 8:10)
