Heavenly Guarantees

Have you ever wished that life came with certain guarantees? At birth, the doctor presented your parent(s) with a list of guarantees that you would, for certain, accomplish in your life time; no worries, no fears, no stresses; just guaranteed succeesses. It would say something like “guaranteed” to finsih high school and college with honors, have a great job or career, find the perfect mate for life, live with no diseases or illnesses. Wow! Wouln’t that be Utopia. Yet, we have even a greater promise from God that he will neither “leave” nor “forsake” us. Sometimes, when we face certain obsticles and heartaches in our lives, we forget that our Heavenly Father is still right beside us. We tend to wonder where he is in the midst of our trials. The disciples faced such a test in their lives. Jesus told them to get on board the ship “to go to the other side.” When they reached the deepest section of the waters, there arose a great storm “insomuch that the ship was covered with waves.” In the midst of the storm, Jesus lay sleeping in the helm of the boat. The disciples battled their way against wind and wave to awake Jesus crying out, LORD, save us; we perish.”  At that very moment, Jesus arose and rebuked the great winds and sea. Yet, before he performed this great miracle, he asked the disciples, “Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith?” He just didn’t tell them that they had little faith, he actually called them, “Ye of little faith.” Once the storm ceased, the disciples marvelled, saying, “What manner of man is this, that even the winds and sea obey him!” (Matthew 8: 23-27 KJV). Today, we do have a guarantee that is far greater than any guarantee that can be provided by any works of man. We have the Word of God to sustain us, guide us, lead us, teach us, and assure us that we have a friend that sticks closer than a brother; we have Jesus on our side. Today, you may be in need of a few guarantees in life. Take this guarantee and it will never expire….”Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.” Matthew 28:20

Remember God loves you,
